I prefer plastic. And you are absolutely right: The tracks are a pain in the butt! But what males this kit great is the moulded pn stowage. This is fantastic! I can tell because my friend got the older Sherman resin/white metal box and I painted them for him. These tanks have moulded on stowage too. Maybe I should post some pics of them in your discord.

"If only more plastic kits included stowage" Amen to that! I think firefly crews removed the fifty anyway so if it snaps dont worry i guess. That was a great build, nice tips - i really need to not be so lazy and use a file like you do, i often just chisel chunks away with a knife when wrangling the tracks on BF kits, your way is far more professional! I agree that the individual hulls and the extra camo looks great and for that would much prefer these to my plastic battlefront ones. PSC announced this week that their 15mm Cromwells are now available, after a long wait. I built some Airfix 1/76 ones and they are excellent kits for 20mm gaming, they have one-piece tracks too, just fyi. Many thanks and please keep up the good work!

Almost all british tanks didn't have AA machine guns, only really the lend lease tanks did have them and even there many crews removed them

It must be resin & metal this week! On my channel I reviewed the resin & metal Tracked Rapier for Team Yankee. It is interesting to see the options here. I love the plastic versions of these a great deal. As a tip, if you just want a single Firefly Vc, buy one of the TANKs expansions - the Sherman V/Firefly expansion is the same plastic as the Battlefront box sets. A great idea if you just need a single Firefly to support your Cromwell platoon. Possibly the tracks are a bit short because the Sherman V (M4A4) body is a bit longer than other Sherman hulls. The extra room is required for the engine, and the suspension bogies are spaced out a bit more. If the supplied tracks are bog-standard Sherman tracks, they will be a tad short...

I got my first resin/metal kit today since I don't think the Archer is available in any other form, and I have to say I kind of hate it. It's more expensive than plastic, the cast is so imprecise and ugly, and the track and hull mating is so bad I don't even know where to start on getting them to fit correctly. There's really no advantage other than being cheap to produce at a small scale so you can find more obscure stuff. Also it's been months so you may have figured this out already, but the British tended not to bother with the top mounted 50 cals. Top mounted MGs like that were generally intended as a last ditch AA defense, for which they mostly just have a psychological effect. The Brits decided they'd be better off removing them from the tanks and giving them to the infantry.

I totally agree with you about resin. Well... Not entirely, some resin casts are decent. Like the Warlord maus... But a lot of resin and metal kits are pretty poor. especially the older stuff is just messy. I suspect it's mostly from old and worn out moulds still being used. It is cheap, and it's even cheaper to use the moulds until they disintegrate I guess. I wish plastic were cheaper to make. Then we could have all the awesome obscure oddball tanks in glorious plastic. I'm sure you're right abotu the MG's too... but they do look cool up there on top of the tank. Also this reminded me that I could have compared the resin Firefly with the plastic one I just built... Oh well.

What brand of glue do you use? I like the brush applicator. I have this box set in the shed. It’s been there for years. You have inspired me to get it out.

It's selleys quick fix, which I get from the super market. I gave a more in depth answer in this week's ask a herbert erpaderp video.

Nice tanks! They’re going to look a thousand times better when you eventually paint them, though!

nice moulded detail, is especially like the camo strips and stuff ... pretty good for resin/metal... but, it would be better and more detailed if done in plastic (I think)...

You could try the Tanks! game plastic sherman firefly if you only want 1 firefly. I have lots of Open Fire! Fireflies so I don't need them.

Isn't that a troop of Cromwells. Good kit though, although I prefer the plastic by far. Much easier to work with than resin/metal.

I prefer my Cromwells without mudguards. They look nice and Russian that way.
