Been waiting for these to come back in stock. All the Flanchers are fabulous. D is for dark the other 5 is 5B for Bright. And to really nerd out the 5 is from the chip name MN3005. Anyway, I watched a ton of Flancher reviews last summer before picking them up, but this is the best on them all, it actually shows how good it sounds, and not just the weird stuff it can do.

Is there a plan to make more? Everything Glou-Glou makes seems to be limited to one release. I waited forever to get another drop of the Rendez-vous, and ended up finally scoring a lightly used one. Thankfully I got one of these on release.

Yes, the Flancher 5D IS amazing. I just use it as my only delay pedal for bass guitar, kind of a doubling, tape echo which it works wonders as, but this video shows that this piece of gear is just great for so many applications, from super simple slap back to crazy modulation synth CV control. So so glad you were able to get your hands on this pedal as it’s one of a kind in my book

Using this on bass for a bit of doubling is one of the most ridiculous examples of overkill I’ve heard in a long time.

That sounds amazing! Seems like it would be better suited to eurorack format than it's own thing, but at the same time there's something special about it being it's own thing.

There’s not enough pedals that make multiple parameters controllable via expression. Always liked the old Stone Deaf pedals where you just clicked and held a knob to make it expression controllable (and had a ring of LEDs to indicate the current value). Though controlling all six parameters at once is probably going to sound like a cat farting into tube of Pringles

That is an awesome sounding delay pedal. As a synth player, I really like that it is eurorack compatible... (more so even than the awesome Dreadbox pedals, which I love). I wish more manufacturers did this. This might have to go on my "to buy" l'd also love to hear it on my sax. What expression wheel is that?

Can you please create some metrics of, over time, how many devices you have, the total sum of the knobs, the total some of the buttons, and the total sum of the input and output ports which of course can create an aggregate of total number of ports. I believe it is very important to keep these macro pedalomic statistics as they will guide future generations and analysts.

The crushed delay is sweet. It’s otherwise pretty standard stuff - until you add those external modulators, never hear that sort of craziness from a delay. Curious if the delay and/or modulators can be synced via midi

What happens when these little boutique pedal builders go out of business or the like? If your fancy, limited run effect pedal gets broken or something, you’re probably not going to be able to have them replaced or repaired. That’s always on my mind when I’m buying effects that generally aren’t cheap and made by a guy and his buddies in a basement. I respect the dream but worry about the long term.
@revmuttАй бұрын
I have a fair amount of v equipment that is now vintage and I also have a lot of boutique stuff, I have found very few things can’t be repaired. Yes there are things one might have to wait until someone figures it out but it’s not worth worrying. Just make the noises
@JeremyAndersonBoiseАй бұрын
@@revmutt also, if a person is not touring full-time a lot of this type of solid-state gear should last, if it is reasonably cared for.
@GizzyDillespeeАй бұрын
The things that are most likely to break (the switches and the jack connections) are just as fixable as on any production pedal. It's only unfixable if you somehow fried some component that isn't availavle anymore, and there isn't any available substitute for it. You never know (maybe they used a limited NOS chip) but I'd say that's highly unlikely. Therefore, in the rare case that somehow you fry a component, the ease of repair depend on what size components they used, and how close together they are, and you soldering skills and tools. With such a large case, I'd hope this pedal isn't TOO cramped inside.
@revmuttАй бұрын
@@GizzyDillespee some things like digital encoders but these days with chop cloning and more people doing diy it’s just easier to maintain stuff.

A solution to this is to support DIY makers instead of throwing more money at Roland and Behringer.
