Lee, I really appreciate the how-to videos especially when we can't get on the water. You make great baits, keep up the great work!

When and where would a flaptail be a good lure? I imagine colder and calm water since it fishes slower

Is the blade intended to spin/does it spin?
@TodaysAngler2 жыл бұрын
Yes it spins a few times then blows out of the water, then spins a few in a different direction and blows out again. When it pops out it makes a bloop sound then intermittently clanks on the metal rear clip. Very random action.

You have a lot of stuff that are sold out on your website. When are you going to make more?
@TodaysAngler4 жыл бұрын
Afraid my focus is on making my best selling lures and currently cannot even keep up with those unfortunately.

I've wondered what that screw on the back was for. Now I know, it's for your paint stick and the screw just covers the hole. Thanks, Lee

Nice tutorial!

I’ve used flaps with the screw on the back like that, sometimes the blade will tangle on the screw head, so I snipped it off with a knipex.

Do you get more action on the more metallic sound with the longer screw or the stock version? Love the videos & the how to’s! Be safe out there!
@TodaysAngler4 жыл бұрын
I have personally never really fished it with the screw sticking out so not sure. Some people feel better with more metal noise.

Do you recommend any particular repairs/epoxy patching once the bait has been eaten a few times and gets torn up down to bare wood? Or is it fine to just leave the bare spots?
@TodaysAngler4 жыл бұрын
Clear nail polish will work fine but probably not necessary.

Thanks for the reply, I finally ordered a flaptail and look forward to trying it out

Hey Lee, hopefully, u will still see this, but have you ever change the blade on the original flaptail with a larger or different style blade? Would you recommend this or would it mess with the action of the lure?
