DEFINITIVE BATTLEGROUND BLITZ MAP GUIDE

this guide will give you every bit of information I could possibly give you for how the battleground blitz maps work, scoring, ruleset, new changes for this game mode specifically, how you can best play certain roles, how you can be a difference maker, and more advanced strategies and tactics to get ahead of the game on every map. if this video does well, I still have a wealth of knowledge for individual classes & specs that I can make their own video but this was already 1 hour long of pure content & talking through very detailed explanations of bg blitz.
EVERY map is added here so of course there are timestamps below. go to whichever one you need a refresher one, especially maps like Eye of the Storm & Arathi Basin where the map dynamics are completely changed from their random bg or even RATED battleground counterparts.
this video was insanely difficult to make and I did everything I could to cover every question I've gotten or thought I might get. if there are any other questions, do not hesitate to ask them in the comments. I'm sure there will be TONS of discussion there to explain and flesh out even more understanding of this fantastic game mode.
think of this has the ultimate beginner's guide to bg blitz. will it tell you exactly what talents to run as a fury warrior? no. but if that's of interest, and BG blitz is as popular as it looks, I will slowly make guides for every spec & class in the game.

I've played this format, but I came back to wow after quitting in WoD. Didn't fully understand the interactions for EotS until watching your vid, how the heck was an avg casual pvp'er suppose to learn how it works? Can't believe Blizzard didn't put in some way to teach new players.

got used to calling the water cart on mines “Mid” instead of water to avoid confusion. but if your team is losing lava then off carts are the most important and swapping both top and lava to go up can change the outcome of the entire game if done right. a lot of people dont even know you can swap the direction

that's what I was going for and I'm so glad you think it delivered. I really hope, even though it's very long and wordy if someone is not understanding a map (like temple or the new EOTS rules) they can just click the timestamps and get a feel for it quickly so the game mode is more fun and enjoyable to them.

Love this content, man keep it up. One question though on Temple. My understanding is that holding an orb will grant you five points per tick if you’re on the outskirts. These ticks take place every five seconds and are independent when you pick the orb up. Killing an orb carrier provides 10 points to the opposing team. With that being the case, wouldn’t it make sense for any class to pick up orbs if they don’t have a teammate who is better equipped to do so near them at the time

Nice vidéo with lot of info, more of an introduction than "ultimate" guide ;) imo you should add the game numbers, i was waiting for it the whole vidéo (how much is a worth in eotc, with 1-2 base? how much is a tick in arathi, etc). Especially important to know at which point you can cap to close the game. But yeah, only so much you can fit in a 1h video ^^

yeah some editing stuff like adding score and other bits of info to the screen in post would probably have been useful, I didn't know which of all these videos I recorded would do well and be well received and I hadn't made youtube videos in so long that I just wanted so info first. as the expansion comes out I should get better and better with more practice!

It's nice that the fundamentals of BG's haven't changed since vanilla. All the strategies we used to use back in the good old days are still valid, do something to slow/disrupt the other team regardless.

Video idea suggestion: a dedicated video about class and spec roles in BGB. For instance, DKs are good target callers, hunters are good flag sitters, blah blah blah.

Im a returning player and found this video very helpful. Ive been maining rogue. You made alot of comments about rogues ability to take points in Arathbi basin and the MOP off brand atlrathi, but as a Rogue I guess i dont feel like im living up to that potebtial. Anytime i try to sap + cap or blind + a base in AB I get interupted. I dont know if Im getting bad luck and people always have their cooldowns up and theyre trinketing my CC or whats happening. But it doesnt feel like a 4 sec cast time lol cause i never get it off. Could you give me some pointers on how to be a better rogur in RBG

How do you convince the other 6 players to do the right strat tho? Especially on EOTS. I always explain that both towers > flag but NO ONE listens. Even duo queueing. We both sit on glad mounts explaining it in /say together and STILL no one listens. Do you just take the Ls on those games or was there anything you could do?

unfortunately low MMR is kinda a wild west, all you can do is try and explain as best as possible and make as many plays as possible. if you do this every game, you'll eventually slowly get out of the MMR where that's an issue and onto games that matter.

One important thing I notice, I don't know is a bug or inteded, you CANNOT cap a base when you are taking DOT damage in blitz, is not a Boomy "shooting stars" thing, I was unable to cap a base from a rogue with full fear/seduction because his poison damage. And I defend Lamber Mill, only putting a Flame Shock on the mage who throwed me down.

this ends up not being true, there was a bug where dots modified by hero talents incorrectly spun but that has been fixed since then. and all other forms of dots that didn't get modified by hero talents still don't spin.

Horde is so busted on twin peaks. Ignoring all the gliding BS, its also easier for them to chase an FC back to the 2nd level after they port since they dont have to swim.

I'll still argue Silvershard Mines is the best. It's the one with the most carry potential. I can't carry a Temple the way I can a Mines.
