Shout out to Dwight and Warren who were members of Sam's Sammy and the Sarcastics here in Colorado Springs. Dwight grew up in the same neighborhood as Frank Zappa. Frank mentions Dwight several times in his autobiography. Dwight also played for Gary Puckett and The Union Gap in the 1960s. It was always a rockin' gig at The Pelican Club owned by the late Lou Mellini. Dwight's prowess on sax was evident when they performed The Rolling Stone's "Can't You Hear Me Knockin""!

I always loved them. Sha Na Na was another 50's revival band at that time but I liked these guys the best. So sorry to hear of the three members tragic deaths.

I worked with the original Flash Cadillac and the Continental Kids at a club called "The Function" in Boulder Co. 1969-70. Stage lighting and Sound stuff. A lot of fun. They were not 21 yet so they couldn't drink in the club.

This was a long time in coming. Nice tribute. Flash brought the "old" songs to life for those of us who never had the chance to experience the original players. The shows were and are always good fun. And yes, it is about the music, loving it so much it hurts (paraphrasing a line in the movie Almost Famous).

I saw them open for Lynyrd Skynyrd at the Denver Coliseum in 74,they were great.

I saw them a couple of times . Once at the Stock Show Complex in Denver, they played for a car show in the mid 80's, also in the mid 80's in Worland, WY. It was put on by the owners of a local bar (The Derrik Bar) we called it the Derelict Bar, for good reason. The tickets were 20 dollars, pretty high for that time. I went, the turnout was pretty poor, perhaps 50 people showed up. I heard that Flash Cadillac's fee was $5000 from an inside source. Regardless of the turnout, they played a high-enrgy show that I really enjoyed.

Very interesting....kinda like X-rated Sha Na Na rocking out in their Fruit of the Looms. I think I heard they were managed at one time by Rich Fifield of Ths Astronauts.
