Yeah heard about this story in bloomberg or ft I guess. Its tragic to see why regulators are always looking for scapegoats to hide their incompetence. Could only imagine what wouldve happened if he was allowed to grow. Could've easily been one of the richest persons in the UK atleast.

I saw his episode on Bloomberg. He made the a Flash Crash in Dow on 6th May 2010. I went back to see the chart of Dow and it fell 500 pts within a matter of few mins and again it recovered. It was HFT.

Flash crash had happened not because of this person rather it was the result of error in algo trading setup of one institution where the trade was suppose to be placed with high volume of market and because of the Sharpe selling it was in loop where algo was following it's own trading volume as an indicator and was placing more and more sell orders which was going in loop
