Very cool project! Can't wait for part 2! I also watched this movie every time it was on HBO!

Really excited about this one - I went to see this for my birthday when it came out and I have loved it ever since. I believe the original movie model makers were Martin Bower and Bill Pearson who had just worked on Alien and the next job was Outland. What a cool three movies to be involved with!

Saw this at the cinema on release - yes I am in that age bracket you mentioned! You kind of have this moment as you are watching it when you are not quite sure whether to love it or hate it and then it clicks into place one way or the other; for me it was love it! The soundtrack is amazing; like the original Highlander movie, all the music is done by Queen which alone takes it to a whole other level. Then, of course, Brian Blessed, Topov, Max Von Sydow, future James Bond actor Timothy Dalton and for someone who was just into his teens the actress playing Ming's daughter (I forget her name now) was - let's just say, very impactful...! Looking forward to this build!

Always liked war rocket Ajax. Funny that movie is essentially the same plot as Flesh Gordon.

Flesh Gordon is a parade of Flash Gordon…

@@frollsshontay I realize it's a Flash Gordon parody, but the Flesh Gordon movie was made before the Flash Gordon movie.

Inaccuracies? Egads I'll have to do some editing! Worth mentioning that when I drew this I only had FDM printers, so the parts were designed for that. Now I have resin as well, there's bits I'd have done differently. Looking forward to the build!

Not saying that to bash the model at all. Even commercially produced models have inaccuracies. Just like with those models, these inaccuracies are small. The only ones I'm concerned with fixing really are for proper lighting.

What scale is this. I normally only build 1:72 and would like to scale this up or down to that but need to know model scale first calculate.

The Fantastic Plastic model is listed as 1:144, I'm guessing this is close to that but I'm not sure where they are getting actual measurements from.
