The irony of these videos is that they aren't simply the best fuji tutorials, they are probably the best tutorials on flash settings for any camera. I'm somewhat experienced with manual flash but the TTL video was really useful.

Hi Chris, Thank you for part 2 of the series. In part 3, please point out to viewers that the exposure square is actually a pentagon when using flash as the flash distance from the subject (and background) also impacts relative exposure. Granted that using on camera flash makes that somewhat difficult to control, but it does come into play if the photographer recomposes the shot distance. I always enjoy your videos!

Thank you for your incredible lessons. I was going crazy not understanding why my shots were all being blown out. Who knew you could change the flash settings in the camera! I learned more from you in two lessons, than I did from a metric ton of books, videos, and online tutors. You are an amazing teacher. You need to put all of these videos into a DVD so we can look at them off line. I'd buy the first one.

I’ve been binging on your videos over the last couple weeks, and I just ordered the X-T4 with the 16-80mm lens and a load of accessories. I got the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 for $264 from Adorama. I have a trip to the beach next weekend so I’m excited to have everything to try out. Thanks for all of your videos. Your enthusiasm for Fuji and the ‘how to’ videos really encouraged me to switch to Fujifilm cameras!

I rarely comment on KZbin videos, but I feel compelled to do so concerning your flash series which I am in the process of reviewing. Simply put, it is stunning in its scope and clarity. Thank you so much. I have always found your videos to be both helpful and entertaining and your approach to the topics you cover to be down to earth and extremely approachable. I'll be liking and subscribing when I finish this comment. It's something I should have done ages ago. Thanks again. You are a KZbin gem. Cheers!

Thank You-Thank You ! You absolutely “hit the nail on the head”. I’ve lost count of how many videos I have watched & always felt something was missing. If I got a good flash pic it was pure luck & a lot of fumbling. All those other videos were put on by show people (Tom Hanks has the right descriptive word). You don’t put on a show you teach. Sad but very few know how. You’ve put your background to great use. We all Thank You for all the many hours you spend to get it right so we can fully understand how to properly use these great Fuji cameras. Simply said, I get better pictures because of you! Lesson 2 takes me to a new level of adding light where it’s sometimes needed. 🌅

Great advice and instruction, really appreciate the time you have taken to do this. The one issue I have with flash photography is that it takes so many shots and adjustments to the camera/flash settings to get the exposure correct that my subjects get fed up waiting. I find it very frustrating and without doubt the most difficult aspect of photography.

Thanks for the refresher, I hadn't done flash photography in a long while and your videos got me back on the right track. Another excellent video. I must be mentally challenged! Yes, flash " scares" me, not actually scares me, but have never been confident when using it. From general misunderstanding of this whole subject, and yes, watched lesson 1, would have thought that in M, setting Aperture to,say, f2 would allow more natural light in and reduce potential flash blast. Will have to watch again, as am clearly missing the mega basic points- in past have only used TTL, sometimes with ok results. Have ordered a Godox flash so should be following your instructions exactly when it arrives. Will second all the other positive feedback comments 🙂
