Since the beginning of the post flash era (beginning 2021 (asl 11-17) the round of 16 has seen about 32 players IIRC 11 Terran (1 one-timer) 8 protoss (3 one-timers) 13 Zerg (5 one-timers) As far as round of 28 goes I haven't counted that but we see someone we haven't seen before almost every season

One thing people forget about Artosis "fanboying" over Flash is that if Flash comes back to ASL and stirs up the scene again, it's good for the health of the scene. Just like how Artosis and Tasteless were hyping up Jae Dong so much even though he was underperforming, relatively of course. The competitive scene needs storylines. I feel like they should be hyping up Snow more though

PvP is best mirror! Once you get passed the Rock paper scissors part of the game it's quite fun. I love when it's reaver vs reaver and then mass Storm drops and reaver drops in the late game... it's so fun.

Since you asked so genuinely RT... while I like playing a mirror matchup, unless I see a PvP or ZvZ with a long video length, I am usually more excited for non-mirror matchups. With TvT it's not even the length I mind but I tend to feel the mid-games end up looking very similar often, though I definitely lack nuance as a spectator watching TvTs. But anyone who skips whenever they see a TvT would be loathe to miss this one. Very cool and different game. All the Matchups deserve some time to shine in Brood War!

TvT is the best mirror for sure. I feel like at the top pro level they always decide the games before it gets into siege line vs siege line. They always seem to hit some decisive timing in the mid game rather than let it run late and end up being mass BCs

The ASL where RoyaL won really won me over - both to him and to the match-up. He was coming out with such crazy optimised builds and strats that it felt like he was at times reinventing both TvT and TvZ, at least in terms of what we ordinarily see at ASL level. It was so fresh and cool. I've been a bit bummed the last couple of seasons though; it's as if the other pros adjusted to his hyper optimisation by either playing really safe early on or rushing, and that's neutered the main strengths of his builds (which are designed to destroy whatever's meta). He's a bit like a Terran Mini in that respect; he can be brought down by the simplest of builds because he hyper optimises every single time, even against players he could totally outclass in a normal game.

Has Flash had enough of goliaths? It's the time for return of the wraith outside TvT, gotcha anti-muta, and jumping carriers. Tune in here, when pros realize it's BETTER to have a goon loaded into a shuttle with reaver than zlots. and that gols aren't better than wraiths until +2 weps or unless you're pushing into hardc contain with turrets. Also, gols DIE FASTER than a wraith because they can eat scarabs, trip over ever possible unit and building. Gols are less than 1 goon attack sturdier than wraith, without the mobility to avoid/flee like 3 wraiths can.
