I think the lack of respect for soldiers has something to do with men signing up to protect this country, and time and time again they go off to fight stupid wars that have nothing to do with protecting America. Soldiers are dumb animals to be used as pawns in war- henry kissinger

Thebatugan77-to whom were you referring with your comment. Were you talking about Donald trump? Perhaps you didn't see President Joe Biden at the tomb of the unknown soldier today. They are now going to be spending money for soldiers who were injured while tending to the burn pit. Maybe you didn't see that on the channel.the only joker that you should be talking about is the past person who occupied the West wing. He called veterans losers and suckers.

Yes, @Vern T...I agree whole heartedly..."THEY"...murdered him... I was in elementary, 5th grade...& still cry at times...THEY...did it & have kept the records sealed (at fifty years they were suppose to be released to public but THEY sealed them back up)...THEN THEY...killed MLK...then THEY killed Bobby Kennedy... THEY SEEM to be hiding things from the American people...waiting FOR ALL OF US TO DIE... Kennedys assassination, caused me to major in history, government & world affairs & since 63, I've never stopped... I worked in broadcasting...and sadly, the news has been mostly "FAKE" for decades... Makes me incredibly sad to see the waves of headstones of the heroes who served to protect the Homeland and the world from foreign aggressors while at the same time being used for politics and monetary gains while our country was being invaded from the inside out due to our complacency with the rigors of everyday life that has been created to be so difficult as to not be able to see what's happening around us. I was 10 and in music class at school when the Principal came over the loud speaker announcing that school was being dismissed immediately. We were told to wait in our classrooms for the school buses to arrive. Then he summoned the teachers. We had never experienced anything like this before so we all sat quietly, scared to death, waiting for our teacher to come back. She came back crying and told us that President Kennedy had been shot in Dallas. We all cried. I thought the world was ending. Horrible day for the whole world.

Sad knowing how much everything changed in 11 Days and how it affected his son who was with him that day. May they Rest In Peace.. Even sadder is reading the comments of “He was the last good Democratic President”. To quote Major Winters in Band of Brothers; “You salute the rank not the man..”..Didn’t vote for some Presidents but didn’t like some but have always respected the Office of POTUS and never rooted against the man in power because as George Bush 41 once wrote to Clinton “Your success is OUR success..”..Rooting against the man in office is honestly hoping your country fails. With an attitude like that one day it will fail…

This is incredibly poignant to watch, especially knowing now, as we do, that his death was little more than a week away as of this filming. None of us knows when his time will come... I'll also point out that we now know that the actual man fell far short of his carefully crafted public persona, and I feel that it's important to acknowledge that, because the cult of personality which has enveloped his memory has prevented the country from really learning the lessons which we should have in the aftermath of his untimely death. While I disagree with a great many of his decisions and actions, neither would I have wished to rectify the matter via assasination, but I'm just a lowly working man, and have never traveled in the corridors of power, as did those who engineered his demise. It cannot truthfully be said that the country was better off after his passing; the fortunes of some of those responsible took an upward turn, while some of the perpetrators undoubtedly came to wish they'd never taken part in the plot. His death brought a sudden and traumatic end to a period of optimism, from which we have yet to fully recover as a nation... Now, to put the matter in perspective, I'll posit this question: what if a similar event were to take place in the US within the coming year? If news of such an event came to you, what do you believe would be your initial response? Would you tacitly accept the version you first heard as though it were gospel, or would you feel it necessary to learn more before forming an opinion? Would you automatically assume that it was the work of a foreign power? Or the work of political rivals? Or would you entertain the possibility that it was the work of political (and other) opportunists, even if such a thought were painful to hold? I'm being both earnest and sincere when I ask you to consider the subject I've just broached, even if only for a few fleeting minutes...thank you for your time.
