I’m excited this thing is finally on Blu-ray 4K! This show was on TV when I was about six or seven, it really helped me in a lot of ways. I was heavily bullied as a kid throughout those years, coming home and watching the flash with my dad and brothers was a huge encouragement. Eventually, I remember having a pair of “flash“ shoes that I would wear in my first grade class, and I would look down at them, and it gave me the feeling that I could run faster than anyone else in the classroom, so I would connect with the show in that way, and it would help me not feel so bad. in 2009, when my mother unexpectedly passed away from cancer, there were times, when I was feeling depressed beyond belief, watching the flash once again on DVD helped me connect with my childhood, and helped me get through that difficult time, and even John himself would send me encouraging messages to lift my spirits. For that, I am eternally grateful.

This was a show ahead of its time. John Wesley Shipp was amazing as the Flash and had an amazing run on the CW Flash reboot. I hope that they bring him back somehow as the Flash or in some form as part of the new DC Universe.

I just got out of the Army in the summer of 1990. Later that year, The Flash premiered. It was so awesome for its time. Then, I was ordered back to active duty for Desert Storm. Each week I would call home not to tell everyone how I was doing but to ask my mom if she recorded The Flash on VHS. This show got me through those dark and scary times as a 22 year old. Thank you for the chance to win.

The 1990 Flash was such a fun show. I remember the excitement building from the success of the 1989 Batman film. I remember a CBS/K-mart promotion and seeing posters of The Flash in the stores. The Danny Elfman theme was amazing. But the best part was John's Barry Allen. He came across as so genuine. He really brought the beloved character to life. Great job. I was so excited when he came back for the CW shows and they tied everything in. And don't forget, Mark Hamill's Trickster in this show is basically the forerunner to his Joker in Batman: The Animated Series...and beyond.

It's a huge relief that they reissued the show on Blu Ray considering the DVD set suffered disc rot pretty much across the board. As for love about the show, it was this magical pulp noir action show that made it a comic book come to life. The cast, the writers, set design, the costumes, the music (from the queen Shirley Walker). It paired well with Batman 89, The Rocketeer, and BTAS. It's just plain comic book fun, and I miss that in live action media. While I'm sad we never got more, holy cow am I glad we even got this miracle show. Even against the sheer amount of comic book media that's available today, this show is still one of the best.

Back in the day, I loved watching The Flash so much that I would ride my bicycle a long way to visit my cousin just to watch every episode each week when it was on air. In my home country, my family couldn't afford a dish antenna, but my cousin had one.

I still love the classic shows. Great to be able to watch them again. It is amazing how shows have changed over the decades. A focus on making things look great and include the latest headline trends often leads to less focus on a plain fun good story.

I loved this show when I was a kid. I use to record it on vhs, and one day my mom recorded over an episode and I didn't see. I was so upset about that. I would like to see it on bluray. Thanks for the opportunity.

The Flash show was way, way ahead of its time. I remember it followed in the shadow of the 1989 Batman movie but it quickly became its own show. The entire cast was spot on and the stories/special effects were really wonderful. To date, it’s one of the finest comics adaptations!

I am such a big fan of the Flash and when this came out in the 90s --oh man-- I have many friends at K-mart and they had a few stand up card board stuff. Never got any big thing like that maybe a poster. I have just about every way you can think of collecting this show. I no long have them, but VHS every aired show, the neat thing even on one tape, my father was a police officer and stopped in for his break. When he radioed in to dispatch it "bled" over the show for 2 seconds that called to say he was on break. Anyway, it has been such a journey to follow the FLASH in the comics, this TV show and to see all the actors back fir the ARROWVERSE. Wish I could have seen you at a Comic-Con in Kansas City, but just couldn't make it work. There's my small story to enter for the blu-ray. Thank you for all the great times! 0:43

I loved his series back then, even though the costing was just a little on a silly side because it being felt looking I still thought it was cool and I think I saw just about every episode of it even though reruns or something that most shows didn't get. I still loved it and enjoyed watching every episode I could see. What made it even better is that when they made the CW Flash series here a while back was that they put him in as one of the alternate Earth flashes. When I saw that I just chuckled and it just made my day and that he showed up in more than one just made things great. Even though he was representing the original flash in the pot helm it didn't matter the fact that he was there as a flash just added to the program.

I remember watching the show mesmerized as a 7 year old when it hit the airways. I remember journaling about it. I wish I could reproduce those entires here in this comment, but I think those pages are long gone. BUT the superhero "muscle" memory is strong with this one. I loved the show because it was out of this world for my little kid senses. There was nothing else like it on TV.

I like John Wesley Shipp because he is a great actor. His original Run made me a huge Flash Fan and When he got cast as Barry's dad in the cw version I was stoked. Cause I knew he would kill the role and he did. I Thought it was awesome they brought him back to honor his original role and make him even more awesome.

SUBBED! I love the original Flash series for SO many reasons. The incredible production design and overall style/tone of the show, borrowing heavily from Burton’s Batman, remain very cool and unique to this day. The performances from Shipp, Pays, Desert and all the awesome guest stars (looking @ you, Hamill!) are spot on. The score by Shirley Walker and theme by Elfman are fantastic and really have that otherworldly comic book flair that many superhero films/shows from today don’t even quite nail. It’s been a favorite since I watched it with my Dad as a kid, and remains so to this day. I’ve got official releases of the show on VHS, LaserDisc, and of COURSE the DVD set…would love to add the full HD Blu-Ray format to the collection. 🥹⚡️⚡️⚡️
