If you kill a killer, the number of killers in the world is the same. But the number of victims of killings is not. I think that's what Red Hood means. Think about like this. If we let all killers live, then they will kill a lot of people. More persons than there are killers will die because some killers will kill more than once. But if we kill killers only, like Red Hood wants, then only the total number of killers in the world will be killed. That number cannot be bigger than the number of victims of killers, since at least one killer will probably have killed more than one person. So, the numbers favor Red Hood's argument, if he is arguing that killing killers is the best way to reduce killings, ironically.

Since he clearly is showing that he cannot he rehabilitated from his insanity" or even just killing him in murder or self defence.
@nickmalachai22274 жыл бұрын
There are some serious questions in regards to killing criminals extra-judiciously, and it would be interesting to see the implications explored with a batman-esque character, but it's important to note that it's not just the colorful characters in costume killing tons of people. How many people has corporate-fueled greed left to die in the streets of Gotham? Would Batman be justified in killing them as well? What about Poison Ivy, who has repeatedly threatened the entire human population through one scheme or another in the past, but is currently seen in a better light due to her character appeal? Killing the Joker seems like an easy answer to an easy problem (and one I agree with, honestly: the man is a continued active threat to dozens if not hundreds of lives, and killing him seems to be the only way to ensure those lives' safety) but it opens up some questions about where the line has to be drawn, if not drawn before you kill anyone.

Batman could kill every criminal in Gotham and two new ones would rise up and take their place. It's how this works. They actually had a story arc that dealt with the concept that Batman's very existence spawned a whole new generation of more dangerous and powerful villains to compensate for him doing what he does. If he killed every villain, he'd just create more powerful and ruthless villains plus he wouldn't have the police or public support on his side. Basically, he wouldn't be a hero, he'd be Punisher or some sociopathic nut like that.

At least he's better than comics Batman who is just the absolute worst when it comes to how he treats his family. Now, he's all alone after Gotham War. Joker is alone too, and finally after all these years the two are back to square one, fighting each other once again, only this time Gotham is no longer at risk of suffering thanks to their rivalry. May the Batfamily protect Gotham now that its two biggest threats are powerless and starting their rivalry without Gotham getting involved this time, as I heard. Hopefully we finally get a rest away from abusive Batman. I must say, this Batman is fresher and has aged a little better.

What I really like about this scene is that you can tell how much Jason enjoyed working along side Bruce once again. 3:03 - 3:10 His tone has the same familiarity as Nightwing when he said something along the lines of missing the batgear (toys) on the rooftop earlier in the movie. Thing is, Jason is angry, but he still cares.

🤦He actually tells you himself. With words. What did you think you were picking up on some hidden subtle clue Sherlock Holmes?
@joannasotelo488611 ай бұрын
@michaeldonne561 No, I was praising the voice actor because it wasn't just the dialog but the tone change during the interaction. Also visually this fight mirrors the intro when Batman teams up with Nightwing. I think the movie did a good job of not just telling the audience what is going on but showing it as well. I meant that despite the dialog, this interaction alone is telling of Jason's character.

4:38 this look Jason has says so much about his pain & suffering, as well as why he can never overcome the trauma he has. The widening of his eyes shows that part of him that wants nothing more than to go back to the way his life was before joker killed him. However, when he says it’s too late, he wasn’t talking to Batman, rather I think he was talking to the young Jason still within himself that his life will never be the way it was.

@Jason Oberman Maybe you should. Joker keeps escaping, and keeps killing more and more people. Maybe the best way to protect people is to just kill him. Wouldn't you? For example, if Joker wanted to kill you and your whole family, and he killed one of them before Batman stopped him. Joker may be currently incarcerated but he will eventually get out and that means your family will be forever in threat. What's better? Removing the threat permanently or hoping that Batman or someone stops him sometime in the future before he kills another loved one? That's why I love the clash of such ideals because it makes you think about our problems in the real world. "You can't stop crime. That's what you never understood. I'm controlling it" Sad but true. Tell him, Rob--I mean Red Hood
@Lite7273 жыл бұрын
Their both right imo. Batman’s method is effective because it keeps criminals scared. He’s absolutely brutal and inflicts the worst type of pain on scum. He doesn’t kill them but takes them just to the point of death to make them rethink their career path. You break a muggers wrist, he’ll never steal again. Crush a rapists’ testicles he’ll never rape again. Break some thugs limbs one by one and he’ll never move dope ever again. Batman simultaneously invokes the fear of what crime can lead to if you don’t stop, and also lead to redemption and a second chance at life. If you keep enough criminals scared crime will drop like cases of a plague. Notice how ever since Batman’s arrivals every scumbag in Gotham literally shivers in fear of the thought of operating at night. In the Dark Knight the mob literally turn to a vicious psychopath with no boundaries to fight Batman, they become desperate, defeated essentially. Alfred even said it, that Batman beat crime to the point of desperation, that’s why they turn to all the Two-Face’s, Jokers, and Scarecrows, because they feel beat and cornered. So Batman’s philosophy definitely works. But what do you do with the ones who aren’t afraid? The ones that don’t back down to a giant Bat. Like I mentioned, the Jokers, and Two Faces, and Scarecows. What do you do with them? There’s nothing that can be done with them. The Joker is far beyond redemption and everyone knows it. Their kind needs to be taken out because as long as they live more innocent people will die. That’s why you need people like Jason Todd. Jason won’t merc some small time hood selling coke trying to put food on the table. Instead Jason might work with him to CONTROL crime and sell at appropriate times with appropriate clients. But he WILL kill a psychopath, a madman, someone who can’t be beat or bullied. He just doesn’t have the patience for that type of behavior. He knows there’s no redemption there and that kind just NEEDS. TO BE. PUT. DOWN. PERIOD. Their philosophies both work and I truly believe with both of them they could create the perfect Gotham. But truth be told Batman will never accept any type of killing in his city and he certainly will not allow Jason to be a massive drug lord and “control crime”. Some low lifes who come from a low income bracket will always resort to crime. It’s inevitable. Instead of condoning that behavior and sending them into poverty, wouldn’t it just be easier to simultaneously manipulate when, how, and who they deal with. That’s what Jason did, and it worked. For a second there Gotham was perfect. But Batman let his own stubborn morality get in the way of it.

Batman's a real genius. Not just scientifically, but socially as well. At 4:34, he pauses and thinks about his approach. In the next two seconds he appeals to Jason's psychology. He knows the kid was abandoned and that they have history as surrogate family. Instead of ham fisting Red Hood he used empathy. It worked because he generally WANTS to help Jason, but he also knows (intellectually) that offering a hand-at that particular juncture-will catch Jason off-guard.

Literally Batman and Robin team up. Just picking up on the little nuggets. How Jason used gunfire and bombs to draw Batman's attention as he's clearly stalling. Then when Bruce is there they systematically take them apart. Bruce even looking to see Jason is following his training of how to move in step with him. Any fighter would pick up that these two are familiar with each other. Like Bruce knew when he got there hence the "shut up and fight Jason" the name being unspoken but implied based on the lightness in Batman's tone. I love this scene as a martial artist.

3:05 shows that deep down he still cares for Batman. As Robin or as Red Hood, he's still one of the Bat Family
@christophersanchez7731 Жыл бұрын
He cares, he never stopped loving Bruce He’s just mad that Joker is still alive and caused untold suffering since then and Bruce did little to stop him Other than imprisoning him Jason thought he mattered enough that if he died he’ll be avenged and it didn’t happen He also disagrees with Batman’s code that’s run under a compulsion to never kill criminals no matter what and became Red Hood to try prove Batman wrong He otherwise still loves Batman and if things were different would want to stand with him again

I feel like Jason’s approach to stopping crime is more effective than Bruce’s approach is.
@IhateYouJustCuz3 жыл бұрын
Sure, it's effective. But Batman's whole thing is not taking the route the criminals take. He sees it as being no better than them. Justify taking one life makes it easier to justify taking more as he would say in the Injustice storyline.

@@IhateYouJustCuz Batman’s whole moral compass are purely based on the fact he’s a psychopath and has no self control tho, he’s not avoiding killing or being “like a criminal” because he actually wants to which kinda ruins the entire point of Batman

@The Krimson Kommando Aren't most fights finished in under a minute? If you were running away, that might make sense, but typically someone gets knocked to the ground and pinned, leaving them at the mercy of the other fighter.
