Big thanks to Box.co.uk for sending me this Flashforge Creator 3. Combining the big print volume of the Guider II and the dual nozzle functionality of the Creator Pro 2 is an interesting idea, but does it work in practice?
In this video I will have a look to see.

This printer has been sitting at my work unused since before I started here! 6 months in I’ve decided to try 3D printing with no experience! This was an easy printer to get started with and watching this video has given me some better understanding! Stoked

All you had to do to keep your Storm Trooper from breaking at the ankles was..."FLEX THE FLEX PLATE". This is one of the great features with this unit.

While you are correct that it is a great feature, when there is such a small 'footprint' (pardon the pun) between the model and the bed the flex doesn't help to much. Although saying that, I was probably just too heavy handed.. :D

@@ratemyfuneral Boy do I understand being heavy handed. I've had to back track a couple of times through the years because of not being patient.

I'm really trying to use a 3d printer to produce small parts for my business. And it just seems like an exercise in futility. It's soooo slow..... And it seems like every print has a different issue everyday. It will work beautifully one time then fail the next 3 times using the exact same settings. We're lucky to get 1 or 2 good parts in 24 hr. It was fun at first. Dialing everything in. But after a while it seems like that's all we do is dial things in. But never get to use the thing for anything useful because we're always restarting the same small parts over and over again. The filament snaps, under extrusion, nozzle jams, No sticking, stops working half way through and hours of printing half a part to go into the trash. It's very frustrating. You have to babysit them 24/7 and still get spotty results at best.

That is the down-side to the hobby but different printers deal with the issue differently. My Prusa really has any trouble..

I'm thinking of getting a new printer, due to print bed issues I've read (trying to remove prints) I've held off purchasing one. My question is; could you use a glass bed without any auto levelling issues? Currently I have a Creator Pro (2016) and clamp a sheet of glass to the bed (after priming it with 3dlac) I've never had any issues removing prints from it. Whatever printer I go for I would like to use a removeable glass bed. What are your thoughts?
@ratemyfuneral
@ratemyfuneral Жыл бұрын
I guess it all depends on your goal. Glass is a great surface to print on as you have get extremely clean and shiny first layers. But it takes a bit of effort to get it level and I would absolutely say you want something with a combined manual and auto levelling facility. I am not a fan of glues and tapes on the bed so I don't use them on any of my printers.

I have a terrible experience with this printer and I have a very important issue. Sometimes the printer doesn't print without any change at settings. Before any print the bed does some automatic moves and leaves the bed at the bottom of the printer while it must be up and near to the nozzle. For this reason the extruder makes a loud noise and printing at the start position of the extruder and not at the bed. This is terrible. I try to contact with flashforge support team but they are really bad and of course didn't help me. Can someone help me with this? I have already recorded this issue. Do you want to watch this?

Hello, I am looking at getting my first printer and I need to print a lot of small knobs size 15*25 mm. So I reccon getting Idex is a way to speed it up. Since these items are small I want as good detail quality as possible from an FDM (Dont want to mess with resin). So here is the question since you have reviewed both. Is the detail of print the same on the Flashforge Creator 3 as on the creator pro 2. And do you think the upgrade to Creator 3 pro versus standard Creator 3 is worth 500 euros?

In terms of print quality, I honestly couldn't really see a difference. From the sounds of it the duel extruders is your way to go. Personally though, if they are only small parts you are planning the Creator Pro 2 might be the better option. In regards to the 3 vs the 3 pro. I haven't tried a pro. Comparing the specs I'm really not seeing the value of the pro, but perhaps in the flesh it makes the difference.

@@ratemyfuneral Hi, thanks for a really quick response. I may need to print something bigger in the future, but I don't have any plans for it. But I really dig the design of the Creator 3 that holds the spools inside. Looks like less dust collector. The higher temp on the hotends on the Creator 3 seems like a good thing too. You mentioned the 3 is very noisy, is the Creator pro 2 less noisy?

@@Average-AL Good point on the spool storage. That is a great feature. Sound is basically the same. All Flashforges are pretty noisy when idle. Not terrible, but a noticeable hum. :)

@@ratemyfuneral Ok I thought they were very loud when printing as well. Any difference between the models there?

If you bother doing a tutorial, why not making it with quality. No over-air audio but a mic. Background music that overruns the narration - no.
