Different strokes Different folks. When I got my XR I rode stock for a while. Once I upgraded to the concaved footpad I was able to ride twice as long without foot fatigue. But hey if it works better for others cool. It's nice to have more options. That way it makes it more comfortable for everyone. 🤙🏿

I also prefer concave on my XR. However, the stock concave on my GT is less comfortable than an aftermarket XR footpad. It's hard plastic, no real give to it, and the concave should be wider/ more gradual / less sharp on the edges.

The foot pads on the XR =/= to the GT though. Concave on the XR is great. Concave (stock) on the GT is pretty bad.

I think it depends on foot size. If you have big feet the edges dig in on the concave.

I cannot stand flat footpads. It wasn't until I got a Cobra Pad and later a Kush Hi (my favorite footpad 😉) that I really started to feel fully comfortable on my OW. Having said that, to each their own! Whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident on your board I say go for it.

Jeff...great videos as always!!, I am an old Alpine snowboarder from the mid 90"s and love the concave, feels like my race board and I can see why many requested flat.....when some want changes they don't realize how much it affect a ride. Luv u guys from Canada and congrats Jeff on the new addition to the Family ( watched a video with Jack mentioning it) I have 2 teens and it never gets old man!!

I’m new rider and bought a GT in august (post recall). I have smaller feet and have been having activation issues recently after 200 miles. It’s looks like the flat front pad may work for me. I like the concave in the back. No issues there.

I was disappointed they only came as a set, I'd just like the front footpad. And at the tune of $150, I'll wait until an aftermarket company makes a replacement front footpad that is either flat or at least not sharply concave. I'm not a fan of the inward taper either. Sure, it looks more streamlined, but how important are the aerodynamics of that element? I'd much rather have the real estate, which is one of the reasons the Kush Wide is such a joy to ride.

Love the concave front but the GT concave back pad tends to slide my foot to have the heel hang off too much. I think its the shape of the concave more than anything and its only if I'm on a LONG ride I just look down and notice it and readjust. Still like it better than flat footpads but glad FM is increasing options

I'm loving that quick activation! I'm in cold Utah so I'm wondering if it will activate with the same smoothness!? I was also looking at the playtpus 3.1 preorder but that is double the cost of the flat foot pads just for one front pad so kick back foot rear is like a BOGO since Onewheel sends both front and rear. I'll keep my rear pad on(love hump) until it wears out then get the kush wide rear concave from you guys!

As a onewheel GT owner, the footpad sensor recall fixed the issue, MASSIVE DIFFERENCE, that issue is fixed, however, if your still squeamish (I understand) go and buy the flat foot pads, 0 chance of ghosting on those. only effected was concaves prior.

You bring up having to buy both front and back but I remember someone apparently was able to only get the front on a recent order they posted on the discord or subreddit which I know is something they used to not do. Would be interesting if they lowered the price just a little and let you just get the front.

If the GT platysense pads are as good as they are for the XR, then this won't be "best" for long. Stock pads to Platysense made as much of a difference to my ride as did going from Vega to Enduro.

@@TheFloatLife huh, I've never noticed that it's a bump. Just feels flat to me on the base. The sensor protrudes without weight applied, but it flexes with very little pressure and becomes flat.

I’d like to know. Had full confidence in GT performance until it got cold here in Utah. My board is doing some squirrelly things and very difficult to just engage. It’s definitely cut out on me over 1 mph. This should never happen and has me riding with fear.

I just want to have restored confidence in the GT and be able to ride without fear it will cut out on me. The board not engaging (mostly in cold weather) but cutting out and quitting on me when going over 1 mph has me really perplexed. Have had to run out a few motor quitting incidents. This can’t happen. Never happened with the xr. Jeff is talking about removing some plastic from the sensor. I don’t understand these boards but I just want to ride without fear. Does anyone have any suggestions to make the board engage quicker and never cut out while going over 1 mph?

Still plastic. Do yourself a favor and mount the sensor to an old chunk of skateboard deck, drill 4 holes in it and BOOM 100% better than a plastic footpad, also will not heat, swell and depress a sensor.
