As an ex bicycle racer, I would recommend some type of lubricating powder inside the tire such as talcum powder. It reduces the friction between the tire and tube. The carcass flex of the tire tends to make the tube want to walk around inside the tire causing tube stress.

Great point! Will have to do that :)

@@tomsgadgetgarage Don't use baby powder or personal use powder. It doesn't use talc any longer due to health concerns. Go to a bike shop or online and get tire powder.

Also, mark the tire and rim to see if the tire is walking on the rim.

Haha yah I remember that video. Looked like soooo much work. Split rims are a huge blessing, even if I have to use tubes. I’ve even seen posts from Max G2 owners asking if they should just throw their scooter away after hours of fighting tire changes and mangling the rims.

great video. thanks Did you have any problem with the brakes squeakin with the gallop ?
@tomsgadgetgarage3 ай бұрын
I did eventually get some squeaking after riding off road in some super dusty areas. I usually wipe down the rotors with some isopropyl alcohol which usually helps.
@MIAMIDJ5553 ай бұрын
@@tomsgadgetgarage thank you so much for the reply- was just wondering and debating between brands as well - kygoo are the same scooters but I see less people taking about brake squeaking . Makes me wonder why ?
@tomsgadgetgarage3 ай бұрын
I’m not too sure whether both companies use the same brake components or not. But one thing I do know is most disc brakes eventually make some noise, especially if you’re riding on dirt/gravel roads. What I can tell you though is there’s never really been a point where the brakes have been a concern for me. And I’m the kind of guy that will tear a car apart to find a rattle haha. You can also swap out brake pads for ones made of a different material or higher quality ones. But again, I haven’t needed to do that yet.

see you had a 45 degree valve on the broken tube, and the replacement had a 90 degree one. Asking because I just bought a Kukirin G3 Pro , and want to buy some inner tubes to have as a spare. Will a 45 or 90 degree valve fit? I mean either one? thank you. P.S : from what I know, ausom gallop and kukirin g3 pro are very similar
@tomsgadgetgarage4 күн бұрын
Hey! Get the 45 degree tube. The 90 technically works but it’s a pain to inflate as it’s very close to the rim. Yah the Kukirin G3 Pro uses the same platform and I think components. Both are excellent scooters. The suspension is very nice on these.

Does the Leopard DT1 Pro have splint rim for the front and quick disconnect?
@tomsgadgetgarageАй бұрын
It has a split rim upfront and in the back. The front has a quick disconnect but the rear does not.

The break at the valve with the inner tube is there a way to prevent that from happening
@tomsgadgetgarageАй бұрын
So @valirossi below had a great suggestion. Use tire powder to help lubricate the tube. You can also mark the wheel and tire and see if the line breaks over time. This helps detect tire creep which can put stress on the attachment point for the valve stem (probably what happened to me).

How you like the scooter? I am about to order one. I can’t decide between leopard and gallop
@tomsgadgetgarage3 ай бұрын
Hey! The Gallop is a solid scooter that has enough power to take you up the steepest hills and off the beaten path. It does weigh about 88lbs so not the most portable thing out there. But if that isn’t an issue, I think it’s a great buy that’s honestly hard to outgrow. The Leopard is also a good option, but doesn’t have anywhere near the power of the Gallop. It’s great for cruising around at 24-26mph and get solid range. Because it has a beefy suspension, it’s going to afford you a lot more flexibility in terms of where you ride compared to your typical commuter scooters (Segway, NIU, etc).

Can this apply to the leapord to?
@tomsgadgetgarage2 ай бұрын
Hello! It applies to the rear wheel with the exception that it doesn’t have a quick disconnect wire. No problem though, just replace it with the wire attached. The front wheel will require some tire spoons as it doesn’t have a split rim. I may make a video on replacing the Leopard tires.

I do plan on putting PMT tires on the Leopard as well. I will check out the Leopard’s setup to see how similar it is to the Gallop and get back to you later today.

So I took a look at the Leopard. The rear wheel uses the same split rim setup as the Gallop. So the instructions apply to the Leopard. The only real difference that I can see is no quick disconnect on the Leopard motor. Just want to make sure the scooter is powered off and key removed. You’ll just follow the same steps, except the motor wire will remain connected.
