Haaland is useless in the press. Compare Haaland to the pressing of Luis Diaz or Darwin Nunez on Sunday. Against the best teams, it is like playing with only nine and a half outfield players on the pitch. That will fail against a top club in good form. If Man City in purring good form, sometimes it works well enough against other big clubs. Sometimes.

Vicious cycle with Haaland: Pep won't play to his strengths, no one will pass him the ball bc they're terrified of losing the ball, Haaland is sick of making runs for no reason and is getting fed up as a result of being ignored 50x a game. Oh yeah, and Pep's slow buildup play which allows the opposition plenty of time to reset their lines and flood the 18yrd box sucks out all the space for Haaland to operate which also makes it far more difficult for City to score regardless of Haaland playing or not. And on and on we go. Until Pep changes, expect more of the above

@@MCFCTheMadHatter I’ve thought the same thing about Haaland ever since he arrived at City. A lot of people never watched him at Dortmund or Salzburg and very incorrectly just think he’s a penalty box tap in merchant. He’s very much not that at all. He’s literally the most dangerous striker in transition at the elite level and his pace in space is frightening. He’s a much more natural fit for sides like Liverpool, Madrid, and how Chelsea are playing now with Jackson up top going off in open space transitional play. He’s not being utilized correctly and Bernardo Silva in particular drives me bonkers. Silva is the complete opposite of Salah with his constant cutting back and conservative passes.

@@mervynpeters I think Pep's style is not only easy to counter now, but he has turned from a multi-dimensional attack into nearly a 1-dimensional attack, especially with the insanely slow buildup play which helps the opposition and hurts us. If you look at our top goal scorers, it is Haaland, with Gvardiol & Kova tied for 2nd place for goals scored in the PL. What is wrong with that list? Where are our traditional scoring outlets such as our wingers or attacking midfielders (Kova is one but he's never gotten over 5 goals in a season his whole career)? Foden 630 PL min 0 goals 1A, Doku 440 min 1G and 1A, Savinho 630min 3A 0G, Silva 1,013min 3A 0G, Grealish 374min 1A 0G, KDB 401min 1G, 1A. Because it never ceases to amaze me how City players like Silva, Foden, Grealish, Doku, and Walker almost appear to go out of their way to avoid playing first time balls into space for Haaland and consistently don’t provide first time service to him. But Rodri was there? You could however see the impact kdb made when he returned. We talking 7 games in a row without a win dude 😂

@Maccy-c4v 7 games without a win? Haland scores hatricks against lesser opponents most of the time so that brings up his goal per game average. If he actually scored a goal per game, city might be in a different position now. Would be interesting to see in the games he scores a hatrick or more, if KDB and Rodri were present. I'm not knocking Haland at all, he is a one trick pony and is in the right team with KDB and Rodri behind him. Clearly with those two missing he's not going to be scoring 5 goals in a game anytime soon. Peps formation Clearly relies on those two magicians playing.

@biafo4541 don't get me wrong, city's form is poor at best but this is s totally disjointed team, I've not been to the etihad since Southampton a few weeks back in the prem and feyenorrd in the cl but something is a miss, I've been a supporter since 94 so I've seen the lows, my view is that pep uses technical players and haaland is an anomaly, he's the best striker in world football but pep just doesn't play that way, aguero is arguably the best foreign striker the prem has seen, ever so slightly has better numbers than Henry and even he was pushed out, i think haaland is wonderful but we have 2 choices as far as i can see, keep haaland and ignore his attributes, which is pointless without feeds or get someone like florian wirtz who's the closest thing to kdb and let him off the leash, we can't complain as we've had an amazing run, on the other hand, and I don't want to say this, Liverpool are only that far ahead because city have backed off, when city are at 75 percent the title is over, Liverpool are being allowed to run free by city.

Football is a team sport, to single out, one player is being naive.Where was the other ten players. Why Haaland ?
@Photosoflife9 күн бұрын
@@walterogelo84 Because far too many people only watch the ball and don’t pay close attention to tactics. It’s been incredibly obvious for a while now what the actual issue is with Haaland. He’s playing with guys like Silva, Grealish, Foden, Doku, Savinho, and Walker who refuse to play first time balls and provide first time service when the ball is on to Haaland. It’s not only so predictable how they all constantly predictably recycle possession but it’s actually maddening to watch. Haaland consistently gets himself into dangerous positions off the ball but his teammates consistently refuse to risk losing possession because Pep is obsessed with possession.
