Such a great technique. I just learned how to make turquoise and and other precious stones. I might use this.

I like that you are not afraid to show that you are experimenting with the piece......I have been working metal for a while but you have inspired me to start mixing the two. Thanks!!

Definiyely try baking before wrapping or you can also bake and then fix the back with more clay and bake again so you dont have to worry about touching the front

Thank you so much, my friend! I have baked it twice before after fixing the back. I think that ut is such easy way of fixing the back. Thank you for chiming in. I love getting ideas from others. I really do appreciate it!

do you have any videos showing how you clean up the back? Also you said something about varnish...how do you do that?
@joannascorner44783 жыл бұрын
Well hello there Friend! I sand the back of my pendants with a very fine sand paper. I use anything between 800 to 1200 grid so it is not abrasive but gets the job done. With regards to varnish... You apply the varnish after you are done with baking and sanding the pendant and you simply want to protect it. You can get different kind, gloss, satin, matte, whatever you want. Some pendants you want to just protect but don't want to add any shine to it so you would use matte. Sculpey makes varnishes and you can get them at Michaels. However, I myself started getting varnish from Lowes and Home Depot and it seems to work very well on my pendants.The one that I am using is Varathane Polyurethane Crystal Clear Matte and I also have gloss as well. You get SO much more for your money. Another way to protect pendant with with resin. I do have a video on it as it is my favorite way to seal my jewelry. Let me know if I answered your question. Thank you SO much for watching the video! I love sharing my passion with others!! Keep me posted with your project!

can you post a link on what kind of wire you bought? Will it tarnish?
@joannascorner44783 жыл бұрын
It is flat wire 16 gauge wire from Michael's. I have been using it for the past three years and since then I have not had any tarnish but I live in dry climate and i don't know if that would make any difference. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Where can I buy the flat wire?

Hi there! I get mine at Michaels but you can find it on Amazon as well. As Michaels you can use their discount coupon so it makes it very inexpensive. Have fun with it!
