Did you have trouble getting the distributor to seat mine came with a shim with the offenhauser timing cover if you push the distributor in and use the supplied collar to adapt from distributor to timing cover when you rotate the engine it wants to push the distributor out

Yes I did, I put paint on the distributor year and ended up sitting the distributor down into where the gears mesh. I then spun it a couple times, pulled the distributor out and measured the distance between the top of the gear and where the cam gear started to mesh. I added that measurment into the free space of the distributor to the top of the timing cover and that was my total thickness to that pipe. It sounds confusing but this was the best way I could describe it
