I lived with 5 boys ( all international students) medics. It was actually the best thing ever :-)

Thanks for that, I was so scared me and my flatmates weren't going to get along and then I'll be stuck with awkward silences for a whole year! 😂😂😂

Honestly I feel like everyone has those thoughts before moving in but I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine!!!

I'm an only child and quite quiet so was a little worried about these kind of things, but your videos are really helping me to understand how things can run,, thank you so much

I’m an introvert and HATE nights out and clubbing it scares me all the noise and people I don’t drink. But I’d go for once but I’m scared my flat mates will hate me
@HollieMcRae4 жыл бұрын
There are plenty people at university that feel the same way as you and that is completely fine! Nights out and clubbing are only one of the many ways to spend your time and meet people at university, I wouldn't worry about that too much!

I'm going to move into halls in Germany and I'm going to live with just one other person .. I don't really know what to expect and I'm a little nervous that I won't find people to hang out with (especially in the week before freshers when (hopefully) everyone is moving in). Would it be weird to introduce myself to other people living in the building, even if they're not living in MY apartment ?
@HollieMcRae5 жыл бұрын
Not at all! Definitely introduce yourself to as many people as possible. All people are looking for in those first few days/weeks is a friendly face and if you start a conversation with someone, they'll be so grateful that you have!

I’m thinking of coming to Aberdeen from Norwich, England in 2021, i’ve also been looking at Unite accommodation and I’d like to ask if everyone in the flat is new/ or are there already some people in the flat when a first year student arrives.
@HollieMcRae4 жыл бұрын
The way that it has been organised in the past is that Unite give a particular move in date and from then, you can move into your flat at any time. So if you move in that day, you will be one of the first in. You may also choose to move in later in the week/month if that works better for you. Someone may have chosen to pay their rent and stay in the property over summer if they wish to stay there the following academic year too. So in that case, they would be there when everyone else begins to move in but that is very rare
