In a vacuum, these missions were pretty fun. Not much replay value, but enjoyable for what they were and the harder difficulties do provide quite a challenge. And enjoying them for what they are is perfectly fine, I certainly did. However, I don’t think we should ever forget what Blizzard took from us and lied to us about, and I think we should all keep complaining about Blizzard forever because simply put, they deserve it.

Running a game like overwatch is incredibly hard especially with how big the player base is. On top of that, overwatch devs and pros have said many times that 99% of the reason they can’t do certain things or have creative freedoms is because of management/blizzard itself, instead of the people who work on the game.

@@AlforTheReaper Alright I'll bite. I agree with you that it's largely not the devs fault. When I say "Blizzard," I mean the corporate/management side of things for the most part. They are responsible for the awful monetization system Overwatch has, and they are probably the biggest culprit when it comes to us not getting the PvE that was promised. They deserve to be complained about just as any other billion dollar company who lies to their customers deserves the same treatment. That being said, how am I or any other average OW player part of the problem? The only thing you mentioned is that running the game is hard because the player base is big. I don't see how that has any bearing on PvE being canceled, if anything it would help.

And the story is ass, Overwatch has been reforming and "rising" for 7 years. Think about it, WHAT is the the story for Overwatch? Like take an actual moment to think about it. One thing I don’t understand is why the talent trees couldn’t be been reworked into a card system where at the start of the mission you allocate points on an upgrade card that gives your abilities additional affects and the number of points you have is based off the difficulty you’re playing on. I understand that the trees weren’t finished and we’re taking way too long but it’s still so dumb to completely scrap the main selling point of the mode and kill any replay value. Even if it was just 4 upgrades that would be more than enough.

There is an achievement for the new room in the training grounds,you need to get 100 points either attacking bull's eyes or attacking training robots in the new room. :) It took me a few tries,but i got the achievement,kinda easy to be honest. :D

And I was more referring to the free to play battle royale events, where there is still a story presented (among other things), but it’s not replayable. They feel very similar from my experience, it’s like you see all this crazy stuff happening via cutscenes and background stuff, play about 10-15 minutes of it, and then it’s done, you don’t get much actual content, but you progress with the lore.

@@nailinthefashion fair I would say definitely wasn’t worth it. But I didn’t know it was only three missions. I played the first day of launch of overwatch two didn’t enjoy the changes and never played since. I played, overwatch one, and I was looking forward to the PVE. I guess I’ve been out of the loop of the game for long enough to where I didn’t realize they canceled the main PVE. I thought there was gonna be skilled trees and stuff. They didn’t really advertise it like they canceled the main cause of the game they just said the PVE was here.

Im fairly sure almost that entire intro cutscene was just stitched together pieces of the various hero reveal trailers and the cinematics they released before OW1. There were like 2 new pieces of animation in that entire thing

The cutscenes, voice work, and environments are all fantastic, but these missions just felt.. off. They just felt so slow-paced in my opinion I don’t know why. A shame skill trees were scrapped, having some new things to play with would’ve been an absolute blast.

Honestly I'd love to see more of the different factions and a bit of a story mode in the pvp. Instead of everyone being able to pick everything and having the same hero on both teams I think it would be awesome if the attack team was something like talon or null sector heroes only and defense would be the overwatch team or other factions such as the shimada clan or the meka team grouped Into a resistance faction of some sort. Obviously they would have to add a ton of different characters cause the overwatch team has way to many people vs talon or omnic. But I think it would be a cool concept that would add a bit of a story line to different maps. Without really changing pve. I also feel it would make the game far easier to balance cause instead of having to balance around every character in the game when they release new characters it would create a smaller pool of characters in matches to choose from and you wouldn't have to worry about things like when sojo was broken.

Technically it is $5. You get 1000 coins in the package, which is roughly $10. Plus you get an extra skin for completing the missions. But I kind of wish the just sold the missions without the coins and the skin.

I had so much goddamned fun playing this. I know the “skill tree L” thing happened but tbh I’m glad we have what we have. The story made me really happy and it felt a lot like an anime they way the story is playing out. I love the fact that we have had time with the heroes in the first game it makes it feel like we are getting a bunch of old friends back together. This was great and worth my money. (They are also replayable as fuck in my opinion) I’m ready for more

At first I was disappointed in the price. After seeing what you get, you’re pretty much paying $5 for the hero missions and $10 to unlock the battle pass. The deal isn’t nearly as bad as people are making it out to be, I just wish that there was an $5 option for just the missions. The missions are a lot more fun than I expected. It feels like a more fleshed out Archives and feels much more replayable than the all heroes archives. My one complaint is that both times in my run on the second mission a couple of slicers glitched behind the ship’s door, and it would have been impossible on the second try if I wasn’t on Brig.

I like how in one of the first cutscenes in which they group up in that small home to make a plan, Reinhardt says "We'll have Echo bring the shuttle." Yet it's Brig who is flying it.. I get Echo was used in the old version of the map back in the day when people tested it out but damn Blizzard, it just solidifies this old recycled content that plenty of people have already seen and played. A shame imo. Anything for a quick and overpriced dollar.

Still hilarious to me that after all these years, this was the “beginning” of the story. Like the characters meet each other, despite years of non canon voice lines of them talking to each other. It’s like all the characters are actors in a play. Even the dialogue sounds weird, it’s like they’re yelling one-liners at each other instead of talking like people. Because that’s what the VAs have been doing for years. And then they gave up on making these and the characters go back to what they were doing. What a shitshow of a plan.

The smaller interactive details. Blizzard is fucking dog shit but the artists/creators behind this put in effort and seemed to care. Idc I’m enjoying PVE. This season has been awesome so far. There is so much of a mob mentality around the game, and some of it warranted for sure. But im going to focus on enjoying everything that I do get. Just my opinion.
