I do know great ,I used to save up when I was a kid nin the WVa coalfields and go see Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs when their tour came to town.lady you are great.!!!!

My favorite music teacher from my high school days has not changed after all these years! I had not picked up my Dobro for a long time while raising my family, but I am back in it now and found this while searching for more pointers and tutorials. Your daughter sings very well, too. Thanks for sharing your Dobro with us those many years ago and even now! Take care- Karin:)

Flatt AWESOME! I've got to learn how to play the dobro. Wouldn't know where to start - probably aren't too many teachers on Long Island (NY).

I wish our youth would get interested in this type of hobby instead of the streets and staying up all night! Now, this young man has had coaching from someone, or a beginner,s Dobro booklet, unless the talent is natural, which obviously is there. He, is well on his way to places! I enjoyed this and his talented ability! I wish him well and great success! Johnny! Thanks Aussie!!

Was that multi-tracking of live instruments, Band-in-a-Box or garage band or something else all together? In any case, nice job & look forward to hearing more :)

Awesome playing- you're very inspiring to me! I'm just starting to learn on a vintage Rabro that I stumbled upon in an Indiana guitar store last week. Besides the pretty tone it sings (at least to my ears), it also came with a dated receipt, a dobro-learning record, strings and other misc stuff. Upon some research, I believe it was handmade in Nashville by a man named Ray Crawford (circa 1977 according to the receipt). **My question to you (if you don't mind me asking), what kind of steel slide are you using- as in what brand and ounces? My hands seem similar in size to yours but unfortunately that's the only thing that didn't come with my new-vintage Rabro/dobro. I bought a 7oz bullet-shaped Dunlop tone bar (that was all they had).. but would like to order and learn with the Stevens-style bar. I'm already tired of doing research on what kind I should order, lol. Thank you in advance, Jen.
