I haven't considered building/furnishing with random items from the flea market specifically, but I have considered doing a similar build challenge in which a random selection of objects from the entire catalogue must be used. The problem is the amount of upfront work needed to set up a proper way of randomly selecting the items (one that isn't biased), so I've never actually gotten around to doing this, but I think it would be a fun challenge.

I have a sim who can not add anything from the build menu except crafting machines. So her furniture is from the flea market, dumpster or crafted by woodworking. It was hilarious when she had an expensive TV, three beds but no toilet.
