Back in the early 90's my grandfather would take me to a large, community flea market in Saco, Maine every weekend during the Summer. One such day, I was walking around looking at old GI Joe's I believe, when my grandfather came up behind me with a large 5 gallon bucket full of old coins. He ended up purchasing some tools and we were on our way. Later that day, after we got back to my grandparent's house and ate lunch, my grandfather took me down to his dedicated CB radio room in the basement where he had set the bucket full of coins. That's when I was introduced to precious metals. Slowly, my grandfather would grab a handful of coins and set them on his desktop for us to observe. Inside that 5 gallon bucket contained about a thousand Morgan Dollars that he had purchased for $2/coin. My grandfather has been gone for nearly three decades now, but those weekend flea market trips ignited a strong fire within me for collecting precious metals. FYI: I still have all the contents of that old 5 gallon bucket, as those coins have served as a foundation to my stacking over the years.

I absolutely love the way your refining videos are strictly business, there's no story telling, you don't mention your dinner plans, 100 percent right down to business, total professionalism. That said, this video where you're out interacting with folks offers a nice modest peek into the personal side of yourself, it makes me feel more connected, almost as if we are friends. Hearing your vernacular was certainly a treat! Seeing the excitement in your eyes warmed my soul. I hope you understand the magnitude of your channel, it's not just precious metal refining, it's wholesome, quality content that spreads knowledge! You have carved out a huge place in the hearts of every one of your subscribers and fans. We cherish you and the Mrs! Much, much love from Washington state and across the globe. Gunny...........! Once again Buddy, you are SPOT ON! We have a large local Flea Market, (in an emptied out ship mall with No AC 😅)! I showed my Linda this video and we ended up going! Twice, as they had 75% off for the holiday weekend! Yesterday, we spent $26.00. We left with a two partial sets of Sterling Silver Flatware, 81.653 ounces worth and some Silver plated platters. Not a bad investment! Today, we spent a bit more. I purchased 5 china sets, the least of which was 52 pieces, stamped, "22K gold", warrantied, on the back! All for $48.00! Yes, not much gold on these plates. I'm hoping that I might get a modest yield, maybe an ounce, from close to 300 dishes and platers. All thanks to MR AND MRS SREETIPS! Now, my Linda wants to start fanning out, hitting several flea markets each weakened! Estate sales are fun, however, the sales people who are running them are pretty savvy and know what they are selling, usually. We found, not so savvy at flea markets! All thanks to you and Mrs SREETIPS! Have a great holiday! Wade

I miss the east coast flea markets. Here in the pacific northwest, they call them “swap meets” and they are not as gritty and down to earth. Theres more people from asia, middle east, india with money who aggressively scour the meets and estate sales and buy up anything valuable. They would have wacko protesters about any live animals. Definitely a different culture and socioeconomic dynamic in the PNW vs Fl or places like NJ or PA fleamarkets

I’m surprised you paid full price on the dimes. But you got a good deal on the silver Lego. Those carry a nice little premium with collectors. Every flea market I’ve been to silver and gold from actual sellers is always overpriced. I only ever find deals on small lots of stuff tucked out of the way, or in the bottom of boxes.
@fgss772 ай бұрын
True, the dimes were 25X.
@sreetips2 ай бұрын
This is all going into my savings. In 2000 silver was $4 then in 2011 up to $48. Just add a zero from what it is now; thirty up to $300 - it’s a mathematical certainty. Not because that metal is more valuable nor more scarce. It’s because THE CURRENCY IS DECLINING DUE TO MONEY PRINTING. So that it takes a boat load more of it to but the same amount of metal.

I saw it and just before my girlfriend left to take a nap and get ready for work tonight (nurse), I threw it up on the TV for her to see. She said he did get a nice price for the coins, and it was nice to see people still going out at their age like we did this morning to a flea market. She also spotted a great deal for a bunch of gold platted stuff that had quite a bit of gold pressed in it. All I can say is her youth full outlook on life and I wonder why I let her hounding me for a year before giving into her dating me two years ago due to age.

@sreetips man I remember when they were $10 each. And that was kinda over priced then being silver was $5.00 per ounce.
@sreetips2 ай бұрын
Silver is currently at $29 and gold is $2500. And both are grossly undervalued due to paper gold and silver contracts crushing the spot price of each. Silver more so than gold. So all you have to do is add a zero to each to get a future fair value (priced in declining paper currency) of gold and silver. It doesn’t take a degree in economics or finance, it’s just common sense. And with a new round of currency printing coming on strong to suppress interest rates artificially, the world will be flooded with more American currency. This will push gold and silver even higher. Not because they are more scarce nor more valuable. But because of the decline in the value of the currency due to more money printing. People with lots of currency in their savings are going to lose. People with gold and silver in their savings are going to have those savings protected and their purchasing power retained. It’s really the only game in town. The last asset class standing: gold and silver.

sad to see the decline but it seriously lacked investment over the years.. instead of letting the internet tale their market share they should work with it.. have one company there doing the logistics and packing and make it a mini amazon like market, where each seller is connected to a system that helps them manage inventory and such, the foot traffic wouldnt matter so much. we need to keep local market hubs, these places give so many regular people independence, its a great place to start a small company and then move from.. but no one wants to run a market stall forever..

Gold hasn’t gone up. It hasn’t become more valuable nor more scarce. Gold is stable. It doesn’t change. What changes is the value of the currency. It’s gone down so that now it takes a bunch more of it to buy the same ounce of gold, that 100 years ago, took only twenty two dollars. And that’s how much our currency has lost. Most people don’t understand this. And that’s what enables them to print currency “without limit” and get away with it.
