No Tote Man available this time, but I think I got a pretty neat idea. On my next trip to the States, I might rent a table on this market and sell some paper stuff that will meet exactly your interests, joking around (perhaps using a foreign language), and then we shall see what will be happening. So, be prepared for some kind of extraordinary flea market adventure, Renée ! 😅 Big score on the "Jack& Jill" magazines from the 1950s, I think you just picked the items in better condition which is understandable. I am not an expert on those magazines, but they might be worth something. Same with the artificial snow box, awesome design. Have a great rest of this sunny sunday, and God bless. 🌄Greets from GER, U.

If you show up to this marked with paper, be prepared to be swarmed! You'll probably sell out before the sun rises! The Jack & Jill magazines are usually sold in lots on eBay, not too expensive but affordable for those that want to collect, pass along to their grandkids, or use in crafting. There were some in rough shape, look to have gotten wet at some point, so I tried to pick out those that covered a holiday or had a nice cover. This was a new seller to the market, so hopefully they come back again! Hope that you had a wonderful weekend and a great upcoming week!

The "what is this" next to the tape measure is a bank. It shows how much you put in. I have a collection of old book banks. Getting harder to find. They look like little diaries with a leatherette covering over a steel book shape. They were used for advertising and helping you save enough to make a payment on something. Perhaps a little dime bank would help make a payment for a sewing machine. A larger one took all change, and some had a spot for rolled up bills to pay off that car or fridge! I collect from the late 1800s (very few) to the late 60s or early 70s. 🏦

No Tote Man there again? What a disappointment! We'll all have to demand his return even louder to make Renée happy at the flea market. Does the Tote Man have an e-mail address? We could all write to him and tell him how vital it is for Renée's (and our) well-being that he's back with his treasures next time. 😉 I hope he's not ill. 🤞🏻 But you still found some treasures! The graphic design of Jack and Jill makes me nostalgic! In my childhood (50s, 60s) we subscribed to a similar Austrian children's and youth magazine called “Wunderwelt”. I'd like to know what the artificial snow is made of. What a great design for the box. My foolish me is imagining a scene where workers are pouring artificial snow on a slope from little boxes so that athletes can ski in warmer winters. Thousands of such boxes would be needed. 😂 I know, I know, it's for decorating, not for sports. 🤓 Thank you for taking us to the flea market again! Whatever you find (or not), you make it fun and interesting. Wish you well Gabriele - Berlin (Germany)

Looks like you did OK , the fortune telling cards were a great buy probably even if some might be missing. I remember the Jack and Jill magazines from when I was a kid…wonder if they still publish them.? The Stanley tape measure is a number 1260, were made from the late 1930s to early 1950s. They made one ( 1261) that is identical but no push button to retract the tape. Both were very popular and I see them a good bit. I carry one in my flea market bag. Yours looks to be in excellent condition which helps its value I did ok at my Saturday flea market , got there a little earlier then I normally do, all the spots were taken of course. The Mexican guy Jesus I buy a lot from wasn’t set up yet. I walked around the dirt section and saw a guy with some pistol magazines including a Colt .380. I bought 3 of them and after telling him they were probably illegal to sell he gave me the last one! I get back to Jesus and he told me about this other Mexican he buys stuff from had a shotgun for sale, of course you can sell a gun on your table at this market Turns out this guy buys storage lockers and it was in one he bought. I look at in his van, it’s Mossberg 12 gauge Riot gun still in the box, I offered $70, he said $80 and I said sold. I didn’t do any haggling because thought this might be a good source to cultivate, I was very appreciative of Jesus for looking out for me and bought a trumpet off him for a friend of mine
@PaperandMoose4 ай бұрын
Sounds like Jesus is a good guy & nice of him to pass you along to another buyer that had something you would like. It's good to have those friendly relationships at the market. Pays to treat people well!

Hello Renee. I always liked the Jack and Jill magazines. I use to look at them in the Dr office when I was a kid. And friends had them . I spent a lot of the summer one year at the Dr. because I had a bad accident in the spring and had to keep going to make sure I could use my arm properly after the surgery on it . Nerve damage was a concern. I bet you think I broke it but nope I cut it in a v shape by my wrist and it cut nerves and tendons it was a mess. I almost bleed out but thanks to my Moms super strength and the grip she had on it I made it to the hospital and lived to scare my mother so many more times that she ask the Dr. if he wanted me or could give her something that would knock me out or make me loopy . I was really not scared of doing anything death defying . Take care 🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🫎🫎🫎🫖☕️🫖☕️🫖☕️🫖☕️🫎🫎🫎💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
