My guess is the 1st tool is for leather work. I believe it makes a starter hole and provides consistent spacing for items to be stitched together.

Loved the video.! The pounce wheel is also used by sign painters for tracing patterns on sign layouts. Patterns are layed on the wood or metal, and powder or charcoal is rubbed across the holes leaving the design behind to be painted. I worked for several sign painters back in the day.!

Mrpete222 has a great video on the oiler dissassembly and repair...helps with figuring out orientation of the innards...also, that imperial knife, the scales have off-gassed, as is evident by the rust line on the blade, impossible to stop, and it will ruin any knife near it if left very long. Great finds!!

I like the two pipe wrenches, especially the offset one. Can't wait to see the Magdad treatment on them, though you're going to need a lot of Magdad muscle to straighten the small one. My wife knew that the wheeled pokey thing was for patterns because her mom had one. I'm surprised that you didn't have any millers falls screwdrivers. I've found several around Pittsburgh here.. I also have two of those Barcolo tack pullers. they come in handy! just used one yesterday. 🙂

The mystery thingy is a tracing paper wheel for tracing patterns on material for sewing. If not that then it’s a marking tool for leather work. All the ones I have seen don’t have such sharp and long pointy thing on the so I think it may be a marking tool for leather for that reason. To maybe mark where to put the awl through to hand stitch.

Nice little haul Magdad. I think my favorite finds were the screwdrivers.....all of them😂 i too am a fan of wood handled screwdrivers. They're just so comfortable and satisfying to use. There might be a little resemblance in the beaks of Chuck and the eagle 😂

At first I thought the pattern tracer was for marking leather for stitching - now I know what a pattern tracer is. Lots of good stuff there! Thanks for posting MagDad!

That tool at the start, I think I have heard that referred to as a pounce wheel, I have seen this type of tool used by leather crafters to lay out stitching line hole placements on leather, may be wrong but its my story and I’m stricken to it.😊😊 My favorite piece was the skull with the eagle on it, and yes my wife would have rolled her eyes also.😂

Thanks Terry! Mrs Magdad actually has a modern version of that wheel in her sewing room.

Fyi case red tractor paint from your local tractor store does a very good job looking like the original paint on pipe wrenches i found one in the field behind my old house and decided to restore it and that paint did a phenomenal job getting as close as i could see to original

Thanks! I've read that Chevy engine orange is close too. I think Rigid has used different shades over the years.

Ooohh, so many great finds! Can't pick a single favorite, but would love to see restoration on these: 16" PH screwdriver (what a beauty!); seized Ridgid offset pipe wrench; Stanley 1299 utility knife; and the copper and brass bullet pencil. I carry a folding utility knife in my back pocket every day. It's my workhorse tool and I feel nekkid without it. So i have a soft spot in my heart for all the utility knives you rescue from the $1.00 tables. And yes, I immediately knew what the mystery tool was. Lol!

Great haul Magdad, looking forward to the restorations. I particularly like the large perfect handle screwdriver, and also both the Millers Falls screwdrivers hoping you can bring them back and brighten up those red handles ! The pattern tracer should be an excellent project too, the holy trinity !

I recognized the sewing tool. My favorites were the miller's falls screwdrivers and the small bent rigid pipe wrench.
