Thank you Nature Tec, it was a wonderful and fascinating experience again. Pie and Apple were magnificent parents and I've learned so much more about these clever, hard-working birds. I will certainly miss giving the "timestamp" for Pie's early morning breakfast call and how happy Apple and the chicks were to see him first in the morning.

They all seemed so impatient to leave but when it was their turn they needed a little time to get their bearings, so sweet. Thank you Thomas for all your hard work both for the wildlife in your garden and for setting up all the technology so we can share in the experience.

Oh the fact that Apple laid an egg on the last day may explain why she was still bringing in nest material (and sometimes trying to feed it to the chicks) to the very end 🥰
@murphychurch82512 жыл бұрын
Ah, so she laid it a few days ago? I was surprised to see the egg when they fledged but wasn't sure whether it had been one that didn't hatch or whether she was already going for round 2. 😆

And what about the starling that came into the box a bit later? Can't remember the exact time...8, 9 or 10...it came in, had a look around and then struggled to get out because it was a bit too big for the entrance. 🙈
@ninoteskera2 жыл бұрын
Hey that box was originally intended for Starlings.
@murphychurch82512 жыл бұрын
@@ninoteskera ah, so that's why the entrance was narrowed? Because the starling really struggled to get out, it was probably coming to the conclusion that it should visit the feeders a little less frequently 😂
@aaronmacy91342 жыл бұрын
Lmao, this is like human families. There are those like Mini and Pip’s, where each child is cautious to venture out into the world because of how comfortable childhood was, ..and then there’s the absolute Chaos of “Apple & Pie’s” where every kid can’t wait to GTFO cuz moms still stripping at the bird feeder and dads clearly drunk at 9am. **LMFAO** I watched mini & pips kids fledge last year and I don’t remember them fighting to get out, or quickly shitting the nest one last time like “f___ you, Dad!” before taking flight and leaving the nest.😂
@glendamontanez91742 жыл бұрын

your videos are great! we have now installed a hedgehog home in our garten. we had the problem with smart cats. but once we added a tunnel to access the house we did not wait long until a hedgehog moved in. we have installed a wildlife camera outside to watch our friend going out and going in. we had lot of problems with the wildlife camera (bug after firmware update, wifi connection lost, no support). we are thinking now to install a camera inside the hedgehog house. What would be your recommendation? What is your experience with the gear you use in your videos? There are a lot of wildlife cameras on the market, but lot of them have a poor quality (no support, poor software, poor wifi connection). And we read the user reviews we know that a lot of users are struggling with similar issues. Wildlife cameras are not that cheap and it would good to buy and promote gear with support, update and good software.

I had already written something about this in my FAQs. Feel free to take a look: www.naturetec-live.de/projekt/faq/#frage9

@@NatureTec thank you for your answer. I already found on your website forum a couple of cameras you use (axis, hikvision, etc). Are these models still your favorite choices? Are you cameras battery-powered? Do you use solar panel? We had some many issues with the poor software quality of wildlife cameras that we are looking for cameras with good software and support. and we have had enough bad experiences. some youtubers indicate the gear they use in the video description. is there a way to know wich gear you use for your channels? It would be an excellent way to compare.

@@tinustinus571 There are a variety of cameras available, each more suitable than others depending on usage, requirements and budget. So it wouldn't be serious to recommend exactly my cameras to you - in addition, some of my models are no longer produced. I therefore use different camera models and manufacturers for different purposes. You can't go wrong with the camera manufacturers you mentioned. Good cameras are always wired (power and internet), without batteries, without WiFi... Wildlife cameras are always the worse alternative.
@tinustinus571 Жыл бұрын
@@NatureTec thanks a lot for the information. if I well understand your answer, the camera has to be wired (ethernet cable for example) to be powered. Does it mean one has to pull a cable in the garden in order to power the camera in the bird house or the hedgehog house? Is there a technical workaround I don't know about (any adapter to a battery or solar panel)? Since most the cameras have WIFI for the transmission of the data. Anyway, you're doing a great job with your channel. I feel like I am a total newbie.
@NatureTec Жыл бұрын
@@tinustinus571 There are cameras that require a power cable and an Ethernet cable. But there are also cameras with just a single cable for Ethernet and power, it's called POE (Power-Over-Ethernet). Thank you very much, I'm glad you like my work.
