I looked around the web trying to find beanie and fleece hat patterns and tutorials. After watching numerous disappointing efforts with crappy sales pitches to join and to sign up, I was ready to quit when I started watching you with such trepidation and reluctance. Well, imagine my surprise and excitement. Young Lady, you are an excellent demonstrator and furthermore, an excellent teacher. Your presentation was excellent and the steps you showed seemed so smooth and easy to follow. I've seen a lot of different tutorials online for various different things. Yours is one of the best that I've seen, and that is saying a lot. I don't often offer praise for something I've only seen once, but I am making an exception here. Let me ask you this... "Did you have a film crew working with you?" The camera work is fantastic and the editing is perfect for what this video brings to the table. I know... I'm an amateur videographer and know the ins and outs of video production work and editing. Your work seems to be very well scripted, and you knew exactly what to say at the precise and correct moment to fit the video footage. It seems that this is a professionally created and filmed video. Am I wrong? I wonder... because the production work on the film is excellent and illustrates a lot of very correct filmmaking procedures and techniques. I like the way you kept all your edits and transitions minimal and used a lot of sped up footage to move from scene to scene to carry you to the next step in the hatmaking venture. The choice of music was fitting and the sped up footage worked very well as transitions as the project moved along and progressed. Excellent work. And what I really appreciate most, is the use of a good mic system to capture your vocals. Your voice was clear, not muffled or echo'ed like a lot of videos that only use an onboard camera mic. Another thing that I really liked is the use of a tripod during filming. It was very obvious that the camera is not handheld. I hate handheld footage because it's the mark of an amateur filmmaker. The footage is hard to watch and it becomes difficult keeping track of where a video is going when the cameras are handheld. It's only worse for me because I suffer acute vertigo. Handheld camera motion only exasperates the vertigo and I end up walking away and won't finish watching a video with a handheld camera with the use of an onboard microphone to capture vocal audio. The video as a whole, was well thought and very well planned. The entire process was well executed and allowed you to explain and illustrate all the needed steps for making this hat project. Well Done!!! Thank you very much!

Your video tutorial is excellent. I made several of these hats. I did add 1” of length to the hat for the adult male in my life. I also choose to slip stitch the opening shut because the hat tended to curl up when I use my sewing machine along the edge. I am impressed with your sewing and informational skills. I learned from you how to determine the right side of the fleece from the wrong side, thank you.

Cute hat! I just made two according to your great instructions. The only problem is that the adult size fits a little tight and short - and I have a fairly small head. I plan to adjust the pattern so that the dome pieces are about one inch longer at the base. For the men on my list, I will also have to make the pattern wider.Overall, though, this is a great hat.
