Rodrigo Flores spent a month on the Olympic Pen. once, backpacked to Hoh Head, spent a week on the beach in a driftwood shelter we made, with literally tons of hassle free firewood all around, we could toss it into the fire from where we picked it up! stayed so long our car battery was drained, we had to wait for someone to drive down that miles long road into the wilderness to get a ride out for help.. dude and his GF were drinking a bottle of black russians in the daytime! great times..

Isn't that the greatest feeling in the world having your child fall asleep on your chest. It's the most calming moments I have ever felt. It's been more than 50 years since I had my baby fall asleep on my chest and I remember it like yesterday. One of the greatest feelings a father could have and it's one that I will cherish forever especially now that he has passed away from cancer. God I miss him so. Sleep well my son

I kept hearing this song in public for years, just out of the reach of Shazam or other music identifying apps. I’d tried searching what I thought I heard online, no luck. Today, I was in a brightly lit tea-and-coffee bar in Bellingham, when this song came on. I thought the sounds of traffic and drinks being made would block Shazam’s efforts. Then, the world quieted down for about 10 seconds, more than enough time for the phone to vibrate once, indicating a song identified. The screen went purple, and “Mykonos - Fleet Foxes” popped up. I am truly grateful.

The movie Due Date was where I found this gem. Usually keep up with the music scene but totally missed this one. Although I guess it was a b side thing so many people did. I was about a year out of detoxing from a unhealthy career in pharma and I just randomly found a movie that had the right exact song for that right exact time in my life. I still hear it on satellite radio from time to time when I'm on the road. And even still to this day, it just emotionally stops me and you just hit the repeat button for a while. Really only way I can describe it.

LYRICS: The door slammed loud and rose up a cloud of dust on us Footsteps follow, down through the hollow sound, torn up. And you will go to Mykonos With a vision of a gentle coast And a sun to maybe dissipate Shadows of the mess you made How did animals in the snow tipped pines, I find Hatching from the seed of your thin mind, all night? And you will go to Mykonos With a vision of a gentle coast And a sun to maybe dissipate Shadows of the mess you made Brother you don't need to turn me away I was waiting down at the ancient gate You go Wherever you go today You go today I remember how they took you down As the winter turned the meadow brown You go Wherever you go today You go today When a-walking brother don't you forget It ain't often that you'll ever find a friend You go Wherever you go today You go today

This is an amazing song without doubt, but what's not appreciated is the beauty, magnificence, and most importantly, the message of the video. Two triangles set off on a journey together, encountering puzzle after puzzle, never knowing what to expect or how to move forward through it, but ALWAYS figuring it out, together. They continue forth, conquering each obstacle as they come, until they finally get to blissfully toil through eternity, together. Perfect.

This song is absolutely wonderful! For those of you born after 1990 who appreciate it, please take into account how it's influenced by the absolutely magical songs of America and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young from the 70s. Those albums deserve to be listened 40-50 years later, they are absolute classics! I can't help this song reminding me of Ohio from CSNY or Horse with no name from America!

Brother I hope life is going well for you. I’m 40 right now.. my life is great, it’s not at all anything like I thought it would be. Looking back at some of my choices, the paths I took, things left unsaid that could have changed everything… I do envy your youth, when you’re in your early 20’s you literally have the world at your fingertips, you get to really decide the person you’re going to be, I just wish I had REALLY understood that the way I do now. Don’t make your choices based on what other people want.

Years ago I had fallen asleep while watching tv. As I slept Fleet Foxes began performing this song on SNL and it woke me from my sleep. I had never heard this song nor the band, but I sat up in bed and listened to this song in amazement. Few songs have ever had that effect on me. Since that moment I became a FF fan.

Makes me think of my ex so bad. This was 1/1 million songs we called "our" songs. But most definitely top 5 most profound to our relationship. Its crazy how much your mind can interpret lyrics differently based on your current situation.. almost wish this never meant anything between us so I could just enjoy it without reminiscing but at the same time it has even more meaning now making it that much more beautiful.

I think this song is about a guy trying to send his drug addicted friend into rehab. Mykonos is a metaphor for a place of safety and help, such as a rehab center. The beginning verse about the door slamming shut means he and his friend had an argument. And the last part where he says "You go today" means he is telling him you either go or no more friendship. Lol I don't know if this is the exact meaning of the song but that's the vibe I'm getting. It's a great song though either way.

FallenAngel So i honestly think this song is about taking place where blue right mountains leave off, after him and his brothers little vaca to the mountains. This is the after math of there romantic relationship, and his brother(sean) is now on again running away to mykonos as robin says it in the shadow of the mess he made and then goes on to say" brother you dont need to turn me away" and goes to to just says thay hes gone away, but thats just a very deep thought out optionn

Mykonos is a Greek island and it's well known about its beauty, and it was voted as the most beautiful island of the world. Maybe it's a metaphor about the person that the singer refers to, when he says "And you will go to Mykonos with a vision of gentle coast." I don't know if it's relative to the story, but Mykonos is visited every year by the most famous celebrities and athletes like C.Ronaldo and NBA Teams. Maybe he is trying to tell that the person who the song is talking, is hiding his "mess that he made" and act like nothing happened and that connects to Mykonos where all the glamourous things are happening every summer.
