I can say he is very mystical man, he's in another level of consciousness !! that's why i love his music and lyrics, all the unspoken notions and feelings..

yeah you can tell that he, and the rest of the crew, are very humble. I guess their success was sort of accidental, but you can definitely tell that they're in it for the MUSIC and not for fame. I love them :)

Really nice to see Robin speak , he seems very humble , but I don't like the questions the interviewer gives them , he keeps talking about sales and succes , and you can tell Robin isn't in music for the succes.Helplessness Blues was such a personal album, I wish he would have asked the meaning and origins of some songs and musical ideas (like the free jazz saxo on The Shrine/Argument) anyways it was really awesome to see Robin answer all these questions, I hope there next album is just as good

That "couple of solo EPs" Robin mentions... I know of St Vincent St. Is there another I'm unaware of? I need to hear it...
@limbosvi69834 жыл бұрын
They would go on to a indefinite hiatus after their second album because if all the noise the album created. They just got tired of becoming the popular kids really fast and dropped everything after the tour. You can see Robin talk about this towards the end of the interview not knowing the popularity of their new album would be too much to endure forcing them into a hiatus.

Good things take time. Listen to Robin how he talks about this stuff. He won't release music just for the sake of releasing it, and personally, I think that is great. BTW he's posted a photo of him recording songs on Facebook, so he's not idle. I'm sure there will be a new record at some point, whether that is in 2 years or in 10 I really can't tell.

I have come to think that Jian Ghomeshi is one of the best all-around interviewers, and especially with musicians. So I take criticisms of his questions with a grain of salt, as a method in interviews is sometimes to take a tack that the interviewer does not necessarily agree with but is used to draw out something from the interviewee.
