I absolutely love that y’all kept the history of the truck and honored it rather then covering up its past.... a class act.

I can't think of anymore off the top my head but I have heard of other rigs that were present at the WTC after the 9/11 attacks have some form of memorial on the rig and in the firehouse even after it's gone to have a 2nd life with another department it's something to be honored and its a nice way to remember all those that died and first responders are still dying now from cancers and the likes from the dusts.

this truck not only is still saving lives but is in my opinion the very best way to honer those who lost their lives on 9/11 its an honer to even see this beautiful truck but to drive it or get in it would be the highest honer my local department has a truck just like this one as its rescue unit (its not a 9/11 veteran but still an awesome truck) we do however have a piece of the twin towers at a memorial here i visit every anniversary this truck is the true memorial to the fallen heroes saving lives and doing what its ment to do and keeping the evidence of her history still there is incredible take great care of it you guys are legends and doing everyone proud

It is nice to see how Colorado FDs participated in 9/11 recovery efforts. Marking the truck helps to remind us of the senseless attack on our country by terrorist. What is sad is the toll that those efforts had a price that was paid in the loss of so many firefighters due to toxic materials associated with this effort. Looks like a very nice set-up for dive rescues.

so essentially your dive rescue truck started out life as a standard rescue truck, but was retrofitted for diving operations later on its life.
@QemeH5 жыл бұрын
That's actually a common route for fire trucks as they can't be (easily) sold like police cars. And most specialty rigs (Divers, Hazmat, Logistics, Animal Rescue, Utility, etc.) have a very, very low miles-per-year number compared to the engines, trucks and ladders - so it makes sense to take old trucks and give them a new life as high-specialty-low-demand vehicles.
