Damn thats a good firefighter. Very knowledgeable and friendly I could see him being an officer. If not a PIO. Hell a chief someday. This is what all departments should teach. Not just the overall training but the familiarity of equipment and apparatus and every tool within the apparatus. And if they're mechanically inclined then they should know everything else about the interior of the apparatus. Good on you man! Stay safe!

One thing you have to look at with budgets for government agencies is the funding per citizen/firefighter too however. LA definitely has a bigger budget than this department but they have to use a lot more resources due to the scope they have to cover

I find it interesting that a department that operates red vehicles, would decide to paint this vehicle white. Given that it deals, primarily with snow / winter emergencies.

Finland must have had something like this during the preWWII "Winter War". Kitchens hauled out to the front lines, even saunas, everyone had a hot meal a couple of times a week and into the sauna a couple of times a week! A major edge over the hungry and freezing Russian troops! Of course, the Finns also used reindeer to haul equipment when useful ... I'll bet you don't have any reindeer.

I think I've seen a suppression-capable version of these vehicles. Since this one doesn't have those capabilities, would it be a case of loading a portable pump, hose, tools, hydrant gear and maybe a portable water tank into the back if needed to access an otherwise inaccessible location?
@nigelwilliams36164 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply! I wondered whether it was an option. I'm sure I've seen versions that can deliver suppression with a variety of different systems including CAFS, Ultra High-Pressure misting & portable pumps. The TRV is a fascinating multi--role concept.
