Reactions like this need a big Daddy-type hug. To have a heart and be unafraid to show it is something to be proud of. If only more people could be like you.

My late Papa used to sing Landslide to my sister, and I almost every night while he was putting us to bed. He was a single dad back in the late 70's and through the 80's . He requested it as his last song while he was being lowered into his tomb. I love you and miss you infintly Papa. Today makes 11 years.

She wrote this song at a time when she was struggling as a waitress and was thinking of giving up music and Lindsay Buckingham. A few month later they joined forces and joined Fleetwood Mac.

She actually wrote it when she was in Aspen when she was in her early 20's, hence the snow covered hills and landslide references. She was supporting Lindsay Buckingham, (the guy standing next to her in this video) so he could play guitar and had truly built her life around him. They got into an argument and he took her car and left her there with just$40. She wrote it in about 10 minutes when she felt her life was sliding down hill. It is interesting to watch them together performing after all these decades. She was so forgiving and he is a complete jerk.

@@DaniAtkinson I find that as we age, words in songs that you may have heard forever reveal truths that were once hidden due to our own avoidance, naivety, or too young to possibly see the wisdom packed within those chords and words. After all, they were written by someone who was probably going through something profound or at least the subject matter lends itself to that. In the end, it is very relatable and her live performance with the live emotion is what connects all humans and mammals. Try out "In the Living Years" by Mike and the Mechanics for a great performance and lesson as to why we have no time to waste being angry with family. Have a box of tissue ready.

I'm not a lyric guy. I hear the rhythm mostly. I've heard this song hundreds of times and never actually listened to what she was saying until I saw you start crying. Then I started crying. Wow, its a whole new song to me and I love it.

Landslide has always been a favorite of mine. We each have our songs which hit us in our feels and I appreciate your emotional reaction Dani. I never cried to any song until "Million Miles" by Angelina Jordan and that allowed me to feel more emotion from other artists and songs, like this one. Dani, I see you had a livestream dedicated to Elvis and I hope that went well. I had a great time on the Flower Power cruise, enjoying a lot of music from the 60's.

Don't be ashamed if you feel so deeply that tears come to your eyes. Your heart speaks and connects with all the people who feel the same way. Music is something magical. What happens to us when we listen to music cannot be put into words. It also happens to me regularly that some pieces of music bring tears to my eyes because I was so moved. If it were any other way, I would just be a stone.

Oh Dani! Here's an internet hug just for you. Whenever I watch this clip and see Stevie and Lindsey pause at the end and look at each other, you just know there's a part of them that STILL loves each other and always will. This song goes back to when they were both together in their formative young years before they became famous or successful.

The guitar player is Lindsey Buckingham. They have had a very long stormy up and down sometimes romantic relationship. They were a duo even before they joined Fleetwood Mac together. That uniting led to the Mac's primo years in the 70's. His presence and supportive guitar playing after the decades makes this video even more special.
