An improvement 25 years late, they should do up the Mechanics, level Debenhams and build the tower blocks and flats in the centre....

They need to encourage more retail shops to the Brunel and Arcade area. That's pretty much empty . Swindon Council should take notice of what Dorchester have. Modern complex flats , shops, cinema and entertainment area by the old brewery and railway station close to a bustling town centre.

The trouble is they are spending all this money on an update to the bus structure but nothing for the town center which has gone downhill, surely to get people to use the buses you need somewhere for them to go, and to a dead-end center is not the place,

Have you been into town recently? I had to go to the bank yesterday and was absolutely appalled with all the Grafitti and Litter everywhere and not to forget the Chewing Gum! Sadly we are a town that Reflects the People who Live in it and Who Administrate it - if the Council (run by the Conservatives since 2004) Cared they would do something about it for a miniscule fraction of the £27m or is it £29m that this scheme will cost!!

Premier Inn will be a mild improvement,,,,not 1 really nice building in centre/ never seen that anywhere else....full of chavs and non classy people....all Uk towns are similar but Swindon is a lot worse than most if not all, even WSM and Derby are being regenerated ; not waiting 35 years to do anything......

Interesting to see the 'what it could look like' video showing irresponsible cyclists flying around cutting up potentially vulnerable pedestrians - unfortunately this is probably exactly what will happen!

Yet another botched SWindon Borough Council project that will cost millions and achieve little! The Bus Hub needs to be at the Railway Station and therefore the Council should have bought Signal Point for £1 and redeveloped it with Network Rail. People are basically lazy or unable and will not go to Fleming Way to get a bus - they will either use their cars or taxis - if SBC want to get us to use buses they must make them more attractive and that means improved transit times - where is the priority for buses at the end of Paddington Drive? It takes imagination and sadly there is none within SBC!!

Every town and city in Britain been improved/regenerated., apart from Swindon...actually got worse in last 15 years, thank God for Outlet Village, really hope this project kickstarts major changes in Swindon beginning in January...last chance saloon.......

@@knockedoutloaded279 I admire your Faith, but seeing is believing I am afraid and botched regeneration is all I have seen in the 30 years I have lived here. but hey ho would love to be wrong! If only the Conservatives had the wit to know how to get people to bother to come to the town centre because sadly know dozens of people who have not been there for years - no reason to go and the reasons left are still declining. How about a Saturday Market? The trouble is you have to get traders to want to go there just like the punters!
