simon didnt call her boring he called the performance boring cuz it was a very lowkey song and she was a bit shy so didnt show too much personality. Also didnt have much stage presence. Which would make the audition not very memorable. Its important to separate the artist from the performance. Now you're a great performer and definitely not boring.

I just heard about Fletcher last week through random song play so I can't say I know much about her but I really like her voice and lyrics. Write whatever you want to write and don't be scared to use pronouns. I mean, how many homosexuals your age are Nsync fans growing up? I don't know the exact numbers but Hayley Kiyoko is one of them and Nsync's use of "he" or "him" didn't stop her from relating to their songs. If somebody would stop themselves from listening to your song simply because they're so offended with the pronouns that you have used to describe yourself and your experience? then they can move on because they clearly don't know how to appreciate good music.

If you're a singer who is trying to sell your songs, you shouldn't limit yourself to the 1% of people in your country who wants to be called a "THEY". Do you get what I'm saying? so screw those people who are saying that she doesn't represent the community! it's so funny to me that our so called community fights for so much equality and freedom but a lot of the people in this same community nowadays would easily get offended if somebody doesn't conform to their PERSONAL BELIEFS.
