The obvious truth when looking at all the lures available in the world is there are only really a few types and fish rarely care what your throwing. Catching is mostly about fishing pressure, weather, location (body of water in general, where you cast, and what depth your fishing) and fish hunger/aggression. I have caught fish on a bare hook with nothing on it. I have caught fish on a homemade popper I hand whittled out of wood that was unpainted brown wood and ugly as crap but caught fish just fine. I have caught fish on cheap baits. I have caught fish on expensive baits. Sometimes (especially rubber baits like with worms/craws etc) cheaper baits that get destroyed by one fish are better because their cheaper weak material has more action in the water. Fish are just not that picky when they are in feeding mode.

That is true, but there's no such thing as "always" in fishing; every single time you fish is going to be different, like you said, depending on a variety of factors. Sometimes, the fish _will_ bite just about anything - but at other times, the right lure with the right presentation can elicit bites when nothing else is working. Sometimes, the fish will turn off, and only a finesse approach will get bitten, but other times, reaction strikes are all you'll get, and giving the fish the chance to be picky might get you nothing even if you pull the lure right past his face. As fishermen, we've just gotta learn all that we can about fish behavior, figure out the fishing situation, and apply the right techniques. Tight lines!!

Hey guys, love the videos and keep em coming. I watch a few different fishing videos and I have noticed something that I find odd. When most of you take a lure off to tie on another, you just cut the line above the knot and leave some line and the knot on the lure. Why not just cut the knot and be done with it? I know it's just a little thing, but I was just curious. Thanks for the great videos!

If the line is frayed up, you cut off a foot or 2 until it is no longer frayed. They were cutting the line just an inch or less from the knot, so that answer is not correct. Thanks for trying tho.@@Daiwa_Is_King

You must not understand the question. If it was because of a frayed line, then you would cut off more than just a half an inch. It would be a foot or so of line cut off. To me, it looks like they cut the line a half an inch just to tie on another lure. So why not just cut it off at the knot, because you are gonna have to cut the knot off anyway to retie a new lure on.@@Daiwa_Is_King

I added a treble hook trailer to the spider and it helps a lot. Ive missed a lot of fish with it before adding the treble. Even then, i rarely use it. I always get the dinks on the spider.

I color the tips of my wake baits red let red sharpie dry. Then I add another coat of red sharpie. Then, I put trophy bass on the hooks. Yes, the hooks. The reason I stopped putting trophy bass directly on my wake bait was that I got impaled treble in my thumbs or hand. The reason procure is super slimy. The lure would slide like crazy as I tried unhooking caught bass. It's safer coloring treble hooks with 2 coats of red sharpie, then putting a dab of trophy bass on each treble hook point.
