@ it came out soooo cute! I had a silk press so my hair was already straight & then I blow dried it before I put the rods in. I learned that it being blow dried is a major part cuz I didn’t blow dry it 1 time and it came out terrible lol

What about when you shower? I tried the flex rods once, trying a heatless alternative method to curl my natural 4c hair. Took them out the next day, wrapped my hair in scarf and showered, only to get dressed removed the scarf to a frizzy semi curled afro😮. Any suggestions before I try it again?

Oh wow really! When I sleep I just put my hair in four “pineapple pigtails” and I wear a bonnet. When I shower I just put my shower cap on top of the bonnet that I slept in. My shower cap is thick though, 😭 with the stretchy elastic band around it like a bonnet not them clear ones lol! and my hair is usually good with that. Maybe try that, but in general I feel flexi rod sets last longer when the curls are tighter and on blown out hair. Sometimes I’ll use a flat iron and do like one pass. I like how that one came out too. I’ll have to do an updated video! 🥰 I hope this helps, lmk and thank you for watching 🫶🏾💕.

Yes I understand, I usually just add a little more mouse to the ends and use a tail comb to smooth it around the flexi rod. When it comes to bending it so the hair stays, sometimes I have to change the direction on the bend so my hair stays in place. Does that make sense? Maybe I will do another video addressing more in depth some questions I have been asked over time in the comments. Lmk :) and I hope this helps 🫶🏾.

Thank You Shamika! 🥰 and I don’t mouse the roots because they will not be as smooth and it won’t give that polished look more stretched look. I’m sure mouse on the roots are fine for some textures or if you are going for the tight look throughout the style but “ion like dat” 😅

To add, 4c hair moves towards moisture. Our roots are usually the last portion of our hair to dry. Because of that, the hair will shrink and you will lose the length of the style.

@@AuroraPettis heeey and I typically put them in 4 loose pig tails and a bonnet or I put it in a loose pineapple with a bonnet. Unfortunately I think this is one of those styles that doesn’t have longevity. You smh have yo teeth them with the flexi rods every few days. Once I figure out a better method to preserve this style I’ll definitely post it! I also have a short showing how I do the pig tails. It should be labeled how I maintain flexi rod curls and it’s one of my popular shorts. I hope this helps! Thank you for watching ♥️

Heeey thank you so much!! 🥰💕and as far as the amount of rods you use, I think it just depends on your hair texture. If you have thinner hair, you prob won’t need as many rods etc.. Also it depends on how big you want your hair. If you want bigger hair, I would use less rods because the more rods you use the more defined it is and more tamed if that makes sense? Lol I hope I do 😅 Lastly it’s all trail and error. It took me a few times before I figured out the way I loved my flexi rod set to look and how big to make my sections. Definitely reference my video if you want it to look similar to mine but you know your hair best so keep that in mind as well. lmk how it comes out! Thank You for watching 🥰

Or maybe not as much product depending on how much you used. I would try switching out the products to see if it comes out better. 💕 What is your texture like?

When I go to bed typically I just pineapple it with my silk scarf and then put a bonnet over it, but I will say that is probably not the best for making it last really long. When I put it in 4 even loose pineapple pig tails 2 in the front and 2 in the back it seems to last longer. I’m working on the best method for preserving this style, when I figure one out I will definitely post a video about it! ☺️
