Is it possible to hard mill involute profiles with Sandvik tools?

What is advantage of gear milling over gear hobbing?

Nothing i think. But you can mill bigger gears on these multitask machines but its still slower that a purpes build gear hobber

Hobbing is a continuous cutting process.. so its much faster..

This can be done CNC VF on 4 axis, no hobbing machine needed

much more flexible, with 3 tools you can cut any gear imaginable and they are cheaper than hobbing tools

И смысл перед обычным зуборезом? Никаких преимуществ, кроме удорожания производства за счет дорогущей фрезы и не менее дорогих пластин с низким ресурсом. Червячная фреза сделает сразу качественную поверхность, которая в 70% случаев не требует доработки, а в остальных случаях, как и тут, без шевингования и возможно шлифования не обойтись. Да и время обработки сравнимо с обычным зубофрезером, на превый взгляд.

В том то и дело. Если охота помудиться то можно и так. А зубофрезеровка быстрее сделает.
