Thank you for the heads up on the corrosion. I walked away from the Volvo propeller. By chance, I distanced myself from a bad alloy. Some kind of manganese or zinc? I spell relief Michigan Wheel Sailer 2 L as in left. It can speed me along simply by being precise and small, and has given perfect service to someone on a 3/4 shaft, for almost half a century.. I chose fixed blades over getting the shaft and I'm happy. Running or stringing along, the Michigan Sailer is as quiet as a mouse.

Very happy owner of both a Bavaria and a Flexofold propeller. I didn't need to choose, it was already on the boat when i got it 👍

Did it come with a two or three blade propeller?

Thanks Baz, It would be interesting to see what size and weight of yacht would benefit with a four blade folding propeller. Quick one for your next Q&A session please. Are there any tings you would change about the design of your boat, could be something as simple as an automatic engine room fire suppression system or as elaborate as a hard top doghouse. Thanks, for watching! Rob

No problems only benefits with a folding prop, as long as they are checked, greased / maintained annually. Thanks for posting
@sailingwithus57433 жыл бұрын
Hi rangie944, It was difficult to choose, they both performed well. The flexofold didn't require greasing according to the instructions. Thanks for watching.

I had a folding prop on a new boat... After 4 trips, suddenly now power... Engine was working, but no thrust. Engine bay had oil and metal debris. Turns out the rubbers to dampen the shock were gone. Only fathering for me.

well your propeller is not near or in the same medium as your engine bay, what are youu saying?

Hi there Zero to sailor, it's good to make another video. Our wheelie bin has done more miles than our boat this year so thought I'd do something different with this post. Thanks for watching!

Hello I hope you don’t mind me asking what you use (if anything) as anti foul on your Gori prop? It’s my first winter haul out with my first boat and lots to learn.

Put the intercooler and pipes through the dishwasher before now. Brings them up sparkling :-) but only when SWMBO is out shopping.

Thanks so much for the very interesting video. It's a rare opportunity to be able to see a direct comparison made with the same boat and in the same conditions. Since the results overall were very close, I am curious to know whether you chose the 2 or 3-blade prop to be your primary? Was there a reason you chose the Flexfold 3-blade vs. the Gori-3-blade model? I don't have any experience the the Flexfold system, however, we installed a Gori-3-blade on our 30' boat a few of years ago and couldn't be happier. In my view of the main advantages is the unique "overdrive" feature offered by Gori, which essentially allows one to select between two forward gear pitch settings. The more aggressive "overdrive" setting can be used while motor-sailing or in calm conditions, thus allowing the boat to achieve cruising speed with a lower engine rpm. While our preference is to sail with the engine off whenever conditions allow, it is nice to have the option to engage overdrive on longer passages when the winds are not favorable, The ability to maintain speed at lower rpm makes for a quieter and more fuel-efficient passage, Cheers and happy sailing!

Hi LittleGuitarConcert and thanks for your comment. In short we visited the Southampton boat show and trolled through every manufacturer displaying propellers. The final choice came down to the ones we bought, recommended by the sales reps. As mentioned in our video the difference between two and three blades is minimal, however pushed to chose between them the three blade just wins. Only because it's better at punching through waves with minimal loss of speed. Thanks for watching, Angie & Rob

Whe did you get the zinc. We have one on our Hanse 455. They yard did not have on our our short haul so we now need to get a diver but i want to make sure I can find the anode.
@sailingwithus57432 жыл бұрын
Hi Allan, I assume you're referring to the cone shape anode on the back of the Flexofold. If you are then we get ours from the main distributor here in the UK called Darglow engineering. they keep them in stock.
