She is feeling pretty down because we had to pack up her Philly apartment and basically give away what we couldn't ship back to the west coast. I work for a major airline as well and so far I’ve heard that another airline has already laid off 46 percent of their employees. My airline is offering retirement and severance packages, neither of which I took or was qualified to take so my only option is to just wait. Will I keep working, Will I be furloughed, if I don’t get furloughed will they transfer me to another station in a random city where I don’t know anyone. It’s just me and my 7yr old son, we are all we’ve got And the uncertainty is killing me. I love love love my job and traveling all the time but I have never been so nervous about the future in my life. Thanks for this video, kinda nice to know I’m not the only one

I went through 9/11 as cabin crew too. We were so worried and stressed, but it all worked out in the end. I was fortunate with the airline I worked for, that they made it through the leaner times successfully.

Kat, I wish the best for your and your husband. I retired from Airlines Anonymous two years ago. And in my 25 years, I received at least one WARN Act letter/e-mail every 18 months or so. That was one part of the job that I didn't care for so much. You have the right idea in making a plan. That 's what I did and it kept my sanity. I had plans in case I had to hit the street, or if I had to bump and roll into another station. As my seniority increased, I would change the plan according to the cities I knew I could hold until I could get back to my home station. I know that 9,950 is a big number, but remember that people more senior to you make take LOA or Stand-in-Stead and you might make it through the mess. Just try your best to stand fast, keep the faith and remember that you have a plan and that you will stick to it. The first time for me was during Crandall's tenure. He personally flew to my station to give us the bad news it was coming. I was only six months in the job. It really does put you in a head spin. But I survived. And you will too.

I work in another industry and they told us two weeks ago that they're eliminating about half of our sales team and even more of the sales support team. I reacted the same way; nervous laughing, making jokes about "at least now I can finally be a stay at home mom", etc. A lot of my team were very shocked, but I've been expecting this for about a year, just seeing the trajectory of the company. No matter what the future holds for you, I am sure that you will be fine.

My adult son was furloughed, along with all of his employees. They will not be hiring anyone back. He was the general manager for an upscale restaurant inside of a hotel. It's very sad. Best wishes to you! 💜

It makes me sad to think about what could have been so I know the possibility of losing your dream job that you’ve had for years is probably heart breaking. I know that sucks, but I try to live my life that everything happens for a reason and you may not know at the time of the event. I have lost a job or I had a great interview for a job and I didn’t get the offer. Something has always become a positive from a letdown; you may just not know what it is right now. Desert Pepper spray the inside of the mask with 3-4 sprays of makeup setting spray. Let it dry completely and there is virtually no makeup transfer.

I know that this is an extremely stressful time and waiting and not knowing is unbelievably difficult. Hopefully voluntary leaves and retirements will help to mitigate the situation. Large numbers of employees are reaching retirement and ready to step down. Whatever happens, nothing lasts forever and neither will COVID-19. The airlines are essential service. Stay positive.

Oh, I am so looking forward to when the New York TV/Film production opens up so I can have an excuse to be awake at 3am (I commute to New York from Connecticut). We’ve been fully shutdown since March 13. Also, the gyms are a tad nerve wracking at the moment. I’m looking forward to going back myself, but I’ll wait until August at the earliest, just in case.

I honestly feel the nervousness regarding the furloughs, because my industry is in so much flux. However, I do want to thank you for being so positive. I’m a captain at one of the regionals owned by AA. They just projected about 600 pilots and 400 FAs will be furloughed (might end up being a little less) I’m going to have to go back to FO but either way it’s a shitty time for all. I hope we get through this soon. It’s hard to see any light at the end of this tunnel because of the politics involved and the tool it has become.
