I love this video Steven! Such a stressful adventure, but yet an awarding learning experience we both had. At 30:18 into the video, I started crying listening to you mention how you fell in love with our AM class and how lonely you felt at the airport knowing training is finally over and the life we asked for have been finally achieved. Guys, to those of you reading this... This job - career - or what I call a "Lifestyle" is a life changing experience. It's definitely a blessing to have those wings pinned on. It's a one time shot to get passed through training or you start all over again, which you don't want. And just like what Steven said, I too had no option B. Only option A which was to come home with those wings, pinned on, and being the first Flight Attendant in my family. Steven, I am so glad to call you my classmate, a friend, and someone who I am blessed to see at work. I remember flying with you the first time I flew Lead while we were still on probation. I miss you and one day hope to fly with you again soon. I am beyond happy for you and I'm glad you're keeping future Flight Attendants posted on what to expect going into training. Stay blessed and safe flying! - Philip N.

You make your airlines sound like a great place to work and I would love to work with you because you would be a great trainer! But the ONE time I flew your airline, it was a horrible experience. Not the flight attendant but the check -in desk person was NOT what you'd want for a first impression. But I can tell you that YOU have changed my mind about your airlines!

Jane Williamson thanks! It's not widely known, but our gate agents don't actually work for us; they are contracted to work for us (except for one base, where they dobwork for us). So they may not be as invested in customer service as we are. But, they recently went through a little more customer service training. Come fly us again!

Thank you Steven. I, just like you am a loner and don't need to be around people all the time. During training everyone is nice but I felt that it was fake for the most part. And some people would stab you in the back if they can gain from it. So there was no everlasting friendships formed.

I saw the paper airplane in your roll aboard video. I shed a tear regarding your brother. That must have been so traumatic for you. It kinda reminds of of " The Good Doctor" and his brother. I'm sorry, it must be so hard for you. There must be so many times you think of things you want to tell him. You should watch the show. The dr. is autistic( main premise of the show) and his brother was his protector when they were young. They do a lot of flashing back to their childhood.

Hi Steve! Now we are coming back to the states and I have been itching to get my own wings! I have seen some of your posts on a FA page on fb and you mentioned quiet often about ac schematic. I am a type of person who is a very visual learner and have a test anxiety. I am so glad to have crossed to your post, you have a lot of great tips from your personal experiences from before, during and after your training. That kind of gives me a feel of some of what I may experience when I get my training and all so I thank you and I’ll be watching the rest of your videos tonight!❤️✈️ safe travels and I hope we crosspath someday at the airports!

Hi Steven, I’m a bit confused about the luggage part. We’re allowed 1 checked bag and 1 carry on so my question is did you use your FA approved luggage only, or did you have another suitcase that you used for your casual clothes and belongings? I have a red suitcase that I use during leisure travel and my FA approved luggage. so being that we will be going to our domicile after training and trying to find a place to live I’m wondering if I can bring my leisure luggage to live out of?Hopes this makes sense..
@flightattendantsteven6 жыл бұрын
When I went to training, with my airline, we were allowed to take our rollaboard and a personal item as well as two regular sized pieces of luggage (each up to 40lbs). Each airline will have different guidelines...and the guidelines within my own company may have changed since my training. I'll tell you that if I were going to training now, I would have packed differently and more efficiently.

@flightattendantsteven6 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I'm not sure what you're saying. My airline only has initial training. There's no separate training other than that. I don't know of airlines that have a one week training followed by two months.

Steven Pereira I am so sorry for not being specific with my question...I am attending the airline Academy in Orlando but I took the online distance course, and I have passed all the exam now I have to go to the JetBlue university for one week training and that’s where I am going to meet with the recruiters and also apply for jobs...I wanted to know is this training consider the same as the 2 months training that you did in the pass..
@flightattendantsteven6 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid I'm even more confused. You took an online course and then you're going to spend time in a flight attendant school. Then you're going to spend a week at JetBlue interviewing and applying for jobs? I'm particularly confused about you going to JetBlue for a week period without having a job offer. All of this sounds very strange and very much unlike any training I've ever heard about.

I'm sure each airline has their own ditching exercise, but I'd imagine the only upper body strength needed would be to climb into a life raft from the water....and that's more about balance than upper body strength.
