Throwback to our base orientation! Back when I was briefly a DTW-based Flight Attendant, the memories!! I remember y'all were all picking up trips afterward because we had 6 days off, and I was so nervous to start flying 😂 seems like a lifetime ago but also like yesterday 💜

New subbie… Loving your vlogs.. Out of curiosity being a commuter FA: 1) How does that affect your time at home? 2) Does that put an extra financial burden on you? 3) What made you decide on being a commuter , does your Airline not have a base in your home state? Sorry for all the questions.

Hi Lasaundra! Thanks for watching and for all the great questions. 🫶🏽💕✈️ 1. typically when I’m home, I’m super tired. I do my best to set my schedule so that I have a few days to visit home. so that I can catch up on sleep, but when I am home I’m in mommy mode: running errands, doctors appointments, spending time with Logan, school events, etc. 2. Commuting definitely is expensive. As a commuter, I pay for Ubers to get back and forth to the airport when I commute to work. my first six months, I stayed at a hotel when I was in Detroit and spent about $400-$500 a month on hotels plus money on food. it got expensive. I recently moved into a Crashpad to be more financially responsible. 3. Great question. My airline doesn’t have a base in the city I live in, and I knew that when I applied. However, I really wanted to work for this company and I was willing to make the sacrifice of commuting for work rather than working for an airline that has a base in my city. 🥰 I love your questions. I enjoy the thought process you are put behind them. 🥹🫶🏽
