Happy for you on your first Chicago flights went well. Had to laugh when you stopped in Minesota. It may get that cold in Chicago too! All the best!! 👍✈

As a line holder now, you bid on the routes you want with days work/off you desire? Knowing what days and flights you will work, so you can commute on a known basis and be ready to work and know when you will be off. (hope this makes sense?)
@MichelleHayashida Жыл бұрын
I try to bid for days off! I'm not senior enough to hold any real good trips I want, so I focus on position bidding and days off

I always look forward to your videos. You are so happy, grateful, and give a lot to UA. Your videos always brighten me up. As I live in Las Vegas, it would be unusual to meet you at ORD, but maybe PHX because I also fly AA as well as UA.
@MichelleHayashida Жыл бұрын
This is so sweet, thank you! Yes, maybe I'll see you around PHX - I commute on AA often 😊

lol my first month as a line holder had me overnighting at home three times (out of five trips) plus another night that I was in a different city than I was supposed to be in. glad to see it's not just me but also that it worked out so well for you! I hope you get lots of great and new experiences in ORD!

What it the typical pay scale for a flight attendant based on title, tenure, and seniority level?
@MichelleHayashida Жыл бұрын
It's different for every airline. Most all contracts for unionized FAs are public so you can actually search the pay scale for a specific airline to know 😊 for my airline, you get yearly raises until you reach "top out" pay (13 years for my airline)

Im glad to see your transition to ORD is working out for you. how is the commute within the city?
@MichelleHayashida Жыл бұрын
Commute within the city is good! My crashpad is close off the blue line, so it's a pretty easy commute. It takes about 25-30 min in total which is really nice.

How to become an flight attendant?What are the requirements to become a stewardess in America? Is university required? I am 17 years old, help me😞
@elainamyers Жыл бұрын
I’m really wanting to become a flight attendant! I’m currently in college and I want to travel instead of being in a office my whole life, I heard you mention your husband does your job cause a strain or drifting in your relationship?
@MichelleHayashida Жыл бұрын
I do have a husband! It takes a lot of work & communication, but all relationships do🥰 it's important to have a partner you trust and who is supportive of the career!
@MichelleHayashida Жыл бұрын
The job has definitely made it an unconventional relationship at times, but ultimately we make it work & it works for us!

Does United still offer Chicago as a base option?
@MichelleHayashida Жыл бұрын
It is not currently being offered to new hires in training, but that can change monthly!
@kennethfeld6639 Жыл бұрын
Holy crud - totally forgot WN started service to ORD - did you get lucky to commute on WN to ORD? well, I guess not lucky, but in your last video when i commented on extra chances for commuting, i was only thinking UA and AA - now add WN to the mix, you should be able to find a flight almost anytime.
@MichelleHayashida Жыл бұрын
I know there's more flights a day between ORD & PHX than SFO & PHX! 😮 it's a long commute but I love how many options I have!
@jacobmartinez5461 Жыл бұрын
Would you ever consider IAH or DEN?
@MichelleHayashida Жыл бұрын
I've considered them both but ultimately decided against it for now & for the near future because my seniority & living is better in SFO. And their flying is majority domestic with not as high of chances of getting intl.

How often do you fly international?
@MichelleHayashida Жыл бұрын
Really depends on the season, my schedule for that month & how much I feel like working. In April I didn't fly any international trips but in July half my trips were international.

How soon did you get a line after training?
@MichelleHayashida Жыл бұрын
I had a line 1.5 years in pre-pandemic, but after Covid I was back on reserve. It took me until I was 4.5 years senior to get a line again! It really depends on your base though, and I was in a pretty senior base before I transferred to ORD.
@AlongtheRiverLife Жыл бұрын
How did it feel laying over in a city you use to "live" in SFO?
@MichelleHayashida Жыл бұрын
It's a little sad to be honest! It feels like coming home but...it's not the same? I don't regret the decision at all though ❤️

What made you become a FA? did you do a job before this? I graduated college recently and don't know if corporate job is for me but becoming a FA is a risk for me as well cause it may not work out. Just want to hear others stories.
@MichelleHayashida Жыл бұрын
I applied to be a FA because I wanted to travel but didn't have any money HAHA. I was in my senior year of college when I applied so I never had any real job other than being a student. It's the best job ever! It's just not for everyone and it's so worth a try. It is a risk, but anything worth it is risky in some way. ❤️
@PatilRoupelian Жыл бұрын
@Michelle hey I got a CJO with United!!! I unfortunately bombed the speaker test so ot sure if they'll move me forward now :/ but I can reapply. Since pay is bad the first year or two can you make a video on tips on how to save?
