i work as a ramp agent at Athens International Airport and I can assure you most of the delays happen due to lack of staff or lack of equipment from us (ground handlers).. If only our companies paid a little more attention to obtain the necessary tools for us to work with each season, things would be so much simpler and smoother... oh well that's the ramp life i guess, gotta fight every day for a clean turnaround :)

Love these videos, excellent info and insight. You're doing an awesome job in expanding what you guys do and the quality is very high. Mark is also a top guy, I enjoy listening to him on live streams. If you want to tidy up the mic, attach it to the shirt between the buttons - the inner most part of the shirt (that has the buttons, not the holes) , remove the dead cat (not needed indoors) for easier concealment, tie will cover anything visible. Alternatively put the mic in one on the pockets. Or attach a lapel mic for a smaller object to hide. Obviously it's not important as the audio is super good, just a visual thing. I'll always try and conceal the mic if I can, under a t--shirt or sweater will not effect audio at that distance, as long as nothing rubs across the mic and sat down like that it won't be an issue.

What a fascinating video Capt Mark. I never realised that congestion over Central Europe could delay a UK departure. Nice to see you have your Lightsaber close to your right hand, what is that used for on a flight?🤔

I once got delayed by 2 days due to a typhoon over Japan. Made the best out of it - 2 more days of vacation. Others who barely slipped through on an earlier flight to the destination spent 2 days locked in their hotel rooms on Okinawa.

Hi Captain Mark, thanks for all your content. Can you explain how much notice you as the flying crew get for your particular slot, so how far in advance of departure is the slot allocated?

The airline can speed up,,,,,,,we fly slower now than the 70's,,,,,i understand the fuel it burns, my family were delayed 3hrs 30 minutes on a flight back from the canaries, amazing fuel wasnt a concern on the way back, a 4hr 40 minute flight on the way out became a 3hr 40 minute flight on the way back,, no comp lol

I average one flight every 5 days. It has been 18 months since I've been on a domestic flight that left on time It has become unbearable. Airlines should have to reimburse everyone on every flight 1$ for every minute that the flight is late.
