I love cockatiels, and seeing them flying so beautifully and freely was a joy. They are adorable, and to me, they always look like they're smiling. Thank you 🌻

They DO kinda look like they're smiling! 😌 Yet many of the stars I see online can look SOOOO adorably earnest and serious when they're trying to tell you something important!

Cockatiels look like falcons, with their long pointy sharp wings and ability to maneuver while flying, they are very good flyers, adorable birds, and thank you plumes of oz 🌻❤️

Falcons are closer related genetically to parrots than they are to other raptor species. So your observation has scientific merit

Thanks for the comment. Bill and foot morphology suggest the same conclusion. Unravelling DNA markers is the new ornithology research. But still leaves so many holes. Our real problem is DNA folding back on itself to change transcription then understanding non expressed genes

@@plumesofoz yes the newest DNA research is where these results were found. Obviously these are some other factors involved to have the falcons go from the mostly strict vegetation diets of parrots to the carnivorous diet of falcons. But indeed falcons are more generally related to parrots than to any other raptors. Birds in general are much more complicated and “evolved” than once thought…especially birds like parrots, corvids (including the Birds of Paradise), and non-migratory predatory birds. I have been reading some of the newest peer reviewed findings and it is really interesting and am excited to see how it all fits and is changing some old held beliefs. It will take sometime of course to understand what it all actually ‘means’.

@@VenusEvan_1885 yes I have also noticed that cockatiels and falcons have a very similar body shape and even the falcon beak has a more hooked shape than the typical raptors outside of owls.

God bless you for sharing the beautiful videos and images of the "plumes of Oz" before i knew Jesus i didnt really care for or notice birds but after i encountered God in 2017 I really noticed them! It was like i had been blind my whole life and suddenly i could see! Or like i saw everything in black and white and suddenly God gave me full colour vision! Oh and how I love His birds! They are just so beautiful and interesting. God has taught me so much through them and His other creatures. How wonderful our God is! How beautiful are these birds! It is just so delightful to see the cockatiels flying free and happy where God designed them to be- too many are neglected, sad and in cages and have very little joy in life. Thank you again for being such a blessing to all of us that otherwise would not have the pleasure of seeing such beauty!

No offence to Bruce, but I'd rather hear the sounds of nature over such a heavy piano piece.

I agree except recoding bird calls in the wild is often really wild with wind screams, so I compromise to tinkling ivories.
