This ride is definitely worth it. Just know before hand that the ride is extremely short and you wont be disappointed. Im a pass holder and notice that there is a point where the line for this ride gets shorter. I only ride it when the line is 20 min or else. So be on the look out! Definitely a fun ride.

[UPDATE: I finally rode it and it was a fun experience! I loved it!] To people who say this ride is 'boring' or 'lame' cause it's too short, then you must not be as big of a harry potter fan. Cause personally for me (A person who is SUPER scared of roller coasters) would ride this for the experience of seeing the Hogwarts castle whilst on it, and also experiencing how fast a hippogriff would possibly be! That's just me since I'm a total geek for Harry Potter

@@fishbed_ The coaster was only renamed. The original coaster belonged to the fantasy part of the park called The Lost Continent. This is what use to be there, before Harry Potter replaced most of it. The little coaster was originally called the flying unicorn.🦄

1:10 I love how immersive Universal Studios Hollywood is. It REALLY brings you into the world of Harry Potter, where there are massive rectangular buildings right along the quaint Hogsmeade village.

Kw6sTheater yeah, when I went it was a bit disappointing. They really can't help it though, I'm guessing they don't own it. LA Universal is in a pretty awkward area so it was probably a bit difficult to make everything look good.

@@lumiepop5049 They definitely own it; it's a building inside the park itself (the back side of the Dreamworks Theater). They've since painted some trees on it, but it still doesn't look great. IMO they should put a big LED display on it, but that of course would be a lot more expensive than their current solution.

I finally went on this, but that's the first and last time I'll ride it. I'm a huge wimp when it comes to drops, and even though this might be considered practically nothing to more experienced rollercoaster enthusiasts, I couldn't find the fun in it that they could. (And yet I love the Forbidden Journey and go on 3 times each visit...) But I'm proud of myself for at least trying it once. If you also hate rollercoasters, it's still worth trying once if you love Harry Potter.

I'm glad it's a little more intense then like a kiddie coaster. props to you for trying it ❤ I was afraid of doing Test Track at Disney. it's not a coaster, but it still has some mild Gs. scared me a little first time, but I got use to it. everyone is different though. after that ride, I feel like I would like lateral Gs (sharper twists and turns.....) more then hills. this Hippogriff ride looks like it has mostly lateral Gs.

If you are a fan of roller coasters, don’t get your hopes up. Quite honestly the shortest and tamest roller coaster I’ve ever experienced. There are no drops. Then it turns right, left, right, left, and the ride is over. Only 22 seconds of action. Not worth waiting more than 15 minutes in line for that reason alone. Went to Knotts Berry Farm the next day to scratch my coaster itch.

Honestly, of course there are faster coasters than this, it’s not THAT bad. But what really scares me once I go on this ride is the feeling of the lap bar coming down, that’s when you truly know you’re stuck where you are, you can’t escape, and all you can do is just accept your fate… Anyone else here hate the lap bar/safety restraint feeling too for coaster rides?

I went on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey with my parents in May 2016 which was 8⃣ years ago. We enjoyed it very much even though Aragog and his children really scared the **** out of the 3⃣ of us that day. Every ride at Universal Studios Hollywood is a super headliner and for good reason. They are all great fun and impressive -- well all except for this one. This ride is located best section of the park - The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The first, and only, outdoor roller coaster that Universal ever had is the Flight of the Hippogriff. It's nothing but a choo-choo train that goes a drop faster and over in less than a minute. Any wait is a waste of time. Tiny children over the not under the 36" limit might break a smile, but it would be soon forgotten.
