If you wanna make it more realistic what I do is make a flight plan using simbrief and manually putting in the waypoints on the msfs map without my sid and star until loading into the game. Then once loaded into the game at my gate I'll add the sid and star using the fmc. I find if you pick a departing and arrival runway using the map then atc doesn't change that, which can happen once you're on the way to your destination airport and the wind directions change.

This was perfect. Was able to get it up and running and following the flight plan. It’s not perfect. But just means i still have lots to learn. Was also a bit scared of having to learn the fmc system. This really helped

I had flight plaining down pat for a while when I first started using commercial airplanes but I failed for so long because I didnt chose a dang runway and when i would get to my airport I would have no choice but to land visually like you would in GA/Military Planes.

Thank you for the tutorial bud, but it seems I have that bug when I go on Navlog it doesn’t show any of my waypoints. Apparently it’s been a known bug for sometime now. Is there a fix to it?

@@Pilot0083 Yeah it’s a known issue on every platform that I was reading online. I can see the waypoints on the globe menu when you’re selecting your airports on the Navlog, but cannot see the waypoint names when I’m loaded in the 737 through the in game Navlog. I’ll see what I can do and may give it a re install, but yeah that’s what I have been doing, taking a photo of the waypoints on the globe Navlog. Sorry for rambling on.

I wish the flight plan could automatically be programmed like on the Asobo A320neo version airplane that came free with MFS. This is time consuming. But i guess im gonna have to learn the hardway.

I'm still learning the basics of the flight computer... but I can definitely say, it 100 percent adds to the immersion factor of flight sim. This component alone has made the 737 my go-to airliner to fly.

@@Pilot0083 ok. For some reason I got cold to dark start up and flight I enter glide slope but the glide slope doesn’t take me to runway. It try’s to land me like 50-100 yards away in airport not on a runway.

Is there option to update the fms nav database of the airports just like in the desctop version? Also in xbox are you able to pop up the navigation displays? Any help will be appreciated.

This is because the nav database they give to Xbox is a year out of date. It needs to be brought up with asobo if we are paying study level money. Some of the waypoints/sids/stars have changed in navigraph, but the Xbox still has a database 1 year out of date

I absolutely cannot get this to work for me. I can follow these instructions exactly and pick out my entire flight plan on the map screen, but once I'm actually in the FMC there are a bunch of waypoints that don't match up with the Navlog. By the time I get to that point I'm not even having fun anymore and would rather just not fly. Also, on the map screen about 80% of the available departure and approach options create these completely insane routes that double back and shoot off to completely random places hundreds of miles away. Either I'm terrible at this or Microsoft just doesn't care about making it feel engaging.

Its in the PMDG settings in the FMS. Set it in to start cold dark from now on and next time it'l be fine.

Please can anyone help me, I keep getting avionics blackout in the pmdg. Pmdg says they can't do anything. It's a known issue with asobo but I just don't know how to stop it. It totally spoils the experience. Any clues?
