Well done philippine airlines, still provide amenity kits and paper menu. Even EK and SQ don't do these this day on their long haul flights. I will fly with Philippines Airlines in July for the first time. Looking forward to it

The lounge is indeed worth it! I've been to some lounges that barely have anything inside them, next time I am in NAIA i will definitely take advantage of it, the cafe at the bottom of the escalator isn't bad either, some very refreshing drinks :)

Thanks for confirming that business class passengers on a handful of PAL flights don't have to go to the A Lounge, unless that sign still appears sometimes... Hope your enjoyed your first-row economy seat.

This December it's "Au Revoir" to tedious layovers when travelling to Europe 🇪🇺 and "Bonjour Paris" as Air France 🇫🇷 is set to restart after more than 20 years their direct nonstop flights between Manila and Paris Charles De Gaulle thus restoring direct flights between the Philippines 🇵🇭 and Europe, it will be easier for French and European visitors, business people also Filipinos living in Europe coming to the Philippines and for us Schengen Visa holders who regularly travel to Europe. I can't wait to be greeted again with "Bonjour et Bienvenue á Bord" by the cabin crew when I travel to France in December perhaps a complementary champagne 🥂 would be great 😃.

The Airbus A330-343, Boeing 747-400 are known for their smooth landings. the pilot's skills are one factor for their landings but mostly it's the A330's design that make it a smooth flying aircraft. one factor is its's large aspect ratio wings that allows the aircraft glide for longer even while using an aerodynamic drag for landing or what we call a proper flare. 2nd is its landing gear which is tilted backwards also contributed to its smooth landing performance. we aviators do not aim for smooth landings all the time, we just aim for the runway centerline, and to be on point on the runway's touch down mark also being on the proper glide slope is also important. there are so many things we consider as a smooth landing, like winds, weight, overall outside air temp, aircraft weight and runway length all contributes for landings. especially on wet surfaces as we also aim for a firm landing to avoid hydroplaning and so that the aircraft sensors would enable the anti-skid and autobrakes completely to help the aircraft to slow down and vacate safely...

PAL has a long way to go I would like to say. The real reason for some scrutinies regarding their service are this : 1. Congestion at NAIA. The more congested, the more delayed flights. Hope they could expand their presence at CRK and CEB while the new Bulacan Airport is under construction. 2. The Greediness of Lucio Tan. He had a number of controversies before he acquired PAL beginning from monopolizing the Tobacco Industry thanks from being a crony to Former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., evading to pay almost $1 billion worth of taxes (as told by Former President Rodrigo Duterte), and being allegedly part of Former President Joseph Estrada's midnight cabinet. Lucio Tan should step down as PAL's majority owner and sell to investors who are willing to run the airline better.

It would be better for PAL to suffer the similar fate of the now defunct Italian flag carrier Alitalia which was privatised in 2009 ran into turbulence of issues until it went bust in 2021. The Italian State established a new flag carrier ITA Airways (Italia Transporto Aereo) in 2020 and began operations a year later after Alitalia's collapse, the new airline sports a distinct Metallic Blue or Azzurri livery and 51% is owned by the Italian State thru the Ministry of the Economy and Finance and 49% is owned and under the management of the Lufthansa Group. The Philippines should establish a new flag carrier follow the similar pattern the Italians did.

@@dennis12dec It would be just a power struggle between the private or the public if PAL gets replaced gets spined off. ITA Airways was just a pure rebranding, they just maintained Alitalia's IATA and ICAO and yet the same old power struggling still exists with Lufthansa Group getting 40% stake and wanted more allegedly. Speaking of the Lufthansa Group, Lufthansa currently on problems due to their employees going on strike. You wanted PAL to be replaced just to pattern a certain trend.

@@markdwighttadina7655 I'll be heading to France in December and it's "Au Revoir" to tedious layovers as Air France 🇫🇷 are set to restart direct nonstop flights between Manila and Paris Charles De Gaulle. I'm highly doubtful about PAL launching flights to Europe 🇪🇺 it was during the time of SMC's control they were successful to fly to London Heathrow but when Lucio Tan regained control scrapped it, it's better for European Airlines to restore direct flights to the Philippines and not rely on PAL.

@@dennis12dec Due to Airspace restrictions it may have a stopover like KLM did They have a flight to AMS but it stops at TPE
@markdwighttadina76554 ай бұрын
@@dennis12dec PAL under SMC was a disaster either. Better if the descendants of Henry Sy who owns SM takes control of PAL since they're the richest in the Philippines along with Enrique Razon Jr. or Manny Villar, since both have a net worth of $10+ Billion.

It's actually better do to NH181/183 to NH819 NH A380 & B787 > PR RP-C8760-8789 fleet at all times. Same is also said for LAX NH5/819 or JL61/745 > PR113 NH105/869 JL version should be JL15 to JL78 > PR103. In general if you have Japanese 5 star carriers take them over PR.
