Flight Simulator 2020 - How to - Douglas DC-3 - using the gyropilot

None of this is working at the moment. It's not possible to push any of the buttons, except "Cage Heading". I tried it with legacy controls too, only rotation is possible. The only way to get it to work is by rotating the knob with "AIL" on top of it. Then it will sometimes turn and settle in the desired direction. But once you change desired direction, you have to rotate "AIL" again. I can't make any sense of it.

I was struggling with this tonight.. good to know I need to go back to xplane for my dc3 needs 😂😂

@@Highintheflightsimsky yeah unfortunately the DC3 in X-Plane by VSkyLabs has a G1000 it’s not the sperry but so far the PMDG DC6 and the Boeing 307 Stratoliner seem to be doing okay

Move the blue hydraulic lever left behind the pilot to GYRO position first, only then the autopilot is working.

I can't get the heading button to pop back out.

My buttons are labeled differently and I can’t get mine to track a heading… at all. Super irritated this plane isn’t better; I’d be flying it all the time if even just the heading and pitch controls worked at least as well as the Beech 18.

@@Highintheflightsimsky It is! I’m flip on the gyro and the plane dives and will not respond to heading inputs.

@@Highintheflightsimsky Forgot to mention that I am flying out of the box. I downloaded the two mods and hope to try them tonight (Duck something and the other just called “DC-3 improvement mod”).

Sperry Illumination button is the back light.
