Dear Airbus Team, this Series is fantastic and has Great insides into the testing Department for the aspiring next generation of flight Testers. My Dream is to become an experimental Testpilot for Airbus Helicopters and i was wondering if there was any Chance you could produce a similar series for the Rotorcraft side. Yours Sincerely Philipp C.

What does it mean by direct and indirect law? Control vs autopilot?
@shi01
@shi01 3 жыл бұрын
No, It's a designation for different Fly-by-Wire modes. "Direct Law" in an Airbus means that the Flight control computer move the control surfaces in direct relation to pilot inputs on the side stick. That's not necessarily the case in "Normal Law" which would normally be active during flight.
@timjamesvella
@timjamesvella 3 жыл бұрын
@@shi01 oh I see. So normal law is the computer taking the pilot inputs and possibly adjusting them before moving the plan?
@shi01
@shi01 3 жыл бұрын
@@timjamesvella Yes. For instance, The flight control surfaces become more effective as speed increases, which means normally at higher speed the same control input would lead to a stronger reaction. In normal law the flight control computer makes adjustments for that so the resulting action of the aircraft to a certain side stick input is always the same, regardless the speed. Also it can disregard control inputs all together if the resulting action would put the aircraft in a dangerous attitude. For instance. in normal law it's not possible to achieve more than 67° bank angle.

Great stuff I can't wait for green planes where all the carbon emitted is diverted or captured through a tunnel system or absorbing bag do that Airbus and other aircraft designers can even make Star Trek Like aircraft In terms of wideness which would later be used for space travel !!! All the best in your endeavors

Just curious, while it's probably extremely unlikely that the ac will experience catastrophic failure, what is the the evacuation plan like for these flights? I noticed the protective gear and parachutes of the flight test crew. Does the crew egress from the main cabin door or one towards the rear?
