Love listening to this song on shrooms. Also, if you aren't familiar. Check out 13th Floor Elevators. Psychedelic from the 60's. They are phenomenal. They were way ahead of their time honestly. They did some really interesting things. Tommy Hall and Rocky really made that band. Tommy Hall would blow into a jug to get some of their signature sounds. If you listen for it, you can hear it. Anyway. Try their songs You're Gonna Miss Me, Slip Inside This House, Roller Coaster, Through The Rythm, Monkey Island. Some of my favorite tracks by them.

For those wondering what kind of scale or this is in: Key is F#, scale goes F#-G‡-A-B-C#-D‡-E-F#, where ‡ represents a "half sharp", a quarter tone up instead of a semitone. You can view this scale as either a) F# Phrygian (using the same key signature as D Major), but with the second and sixth tone raised by a quarter tone, or b) an Arabic scale (maqam) on F# built out of two consecutive Bayati tetrachords, where the intervals are 3/4 tone - 3/4 tone - whole tone.

For anyone interested in playing a lizard wizard in DnD 5e or any similar system: *RATTLESNAKE* 2° level conjuration *Classes:* Bard, Druid, Warlock, Wizard *Casting Time:* 1 action *Range:* 60 feet *Components:* Somatic, Verbal, Material *Duration:* concentration, up to 8 minutes *Material:* a piece of snakeskin, a ring of polished metal You toss the ring towards your enemy, creating a little portal from which rattlesnakes start pouring, at a rate of 5 for each of your turns, for the duration or until your concentration is broken, at which point the portal closes and the snakes disperse by themselves. The rattlesnakes attack only hostile creatures but do not obey you and make 1 piercing plus 2d4 poison damage as intended in the "poisonous snake" statblock. *At Higher Levels:* when casting at higher levels, the number of rattlesnakes grows in 5 for every level above 2°.

The word “rattlesnake” is repeated in the scale they will use for this song. It primes us to understand what the microtonal scale will sound like once the variations kick in. The snake carries scales.

@@jsuban4346 It's an F# Minor scale, Dorian, with a couple of half-sharp notes (cuz microtonal) F# G^ A B C# D^ E (F#) The ^ means half-sharp
@frtzkng3 ай бұрын
@@ChrisLeeW00 One could argue whether it's Dorian with the G# and D# flattened by 1/4 or Phrygian with G and D raised by 1/4th. To me it sounds much more ominous; a character often associated with the Phrygian scale. Or, if you're an Arabic music theory connoisseur, it's a Bayati jins on F#, followed by another Bayati jins on C# to make some weird kinda maqam.
